Ok.  So it did not take long to realize who is the Board deuchebag!!  What up OZ!!!!

There's a lot worse than Oz on these boards.

Some guy named "Oldpa" on here wrote "I'm glad he's gone.  He's been interviewing for years.  He was handed a powerhouse.  Anyone could have done what he did.  If there is a hero there it is Borland."  I lost 50 points off my IQ just reading that!!!

Fair enough.  It just seemed like a very oddly time for a "Lance was great" rant...because we all know Lance was/is great.  Although I do see the purpose in specifying his best traits because those might be things worth looking for in hiring his replacement.

A cursory search does not turn up the post you mention from "oldpa" although maybe it was removed.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

oldpa was the original moniker for janesvilleflash who hasn't posted in some time due to severe eye problems.

And Oz is certainly no "deuchebag" as he was name called. I served on a university search and screen committee for a head football coach once, and it was understood that the proceedings were kept confidential to the appropriate people. A lot of people read these boards.

I tend to not think Oz is a d-bag in general as he always seemed to be a reasonable guy.

Today was a bit different though as IMO he walked the d-bag line, as sometimes we all can do.  Oz happened to walk the d-bag line on a day when a new poster came in, first impressions.

Sigh......anyone that has spent any amount of time reading Emma's stances on a myriad of subjects would know you just can't get the guy to ever change his mind, even when numerous facts point out the opposite.

North Central is still the greatest team you ever saw, right Emma?   ;)

Found this quote interesting:

"We have a 32-game winning streak that's better now than all the divisions combined. That's a lot of stress coming in right away with the thought of continuing it on," athletic director Amy Edmonds said this week.

I don't think you build 32-game win streaks by worrying about the games that came before and I don't think you really want a coach who gives more than about a millisecond worth of thought to something like a consecutive games win streak or would be prone to feel "a lot of stress" because of it.

Interestingly your own guy discussed this in response to a question posed to him during the community meet and greet session.  What he said was that it was important that the staff take the pressure off of the athletes because as a coach you had to be cognizant of the impact that a mistake which led to the streak being broken would have on that athlete.  I thought it was a good answer to the question and reinforced the family theme he had discussed earlier.  It showed that he really does care about them.  I'm not suggesting he felt "a lot of stress" over it but he definitely has thought about it for more than a "millisecond."

FWIW, oldpa was the parent of a player.

See that's just it, I'm fine with numerous facts pointing to the opposite side, as long as I have a fair amount of them, and reason, on my side.

NCC, yeah I've failed on a few prognostications with them.  I will say NCC was the greatest team- outside of UWW in 2010.

Impossible.  No way Wally could be wrong about something. Give him some time and he'll turn the words around and all will be well in his world.

I think that question and the Edmonds quote are two different things in two different contexts.  I don't have a transcript so I don't know exactly what the question was that Coach Raeburn answered, but it doesn't seem related to the Edmonds quote.

Have you seen my picks records?  Abysmal.  I'm wrong a lot (probably not this time though).

bleedpurple:  Hope you are soon going to provide information on the final two coaching candidate interviews as you did on the first three.  These provide some good background and a point of view.  Thanks.

Oops... when I read "deuchebag" earlier I thought it was a typo for Deutscher, and that he (OZ)was our resident German on board. But now I realize it's a naughty/taboo word, and my first impression, that a new Warhawk poster on here couldn't spell, is no longer my impression...  ;D

Not to deviate from the extremely entertaining banter between Emma and Wally. Does anyone know when the powers to be will announce the new head coach? Hasbeen I totally agree with you about a certain coach being disliked by the administration and staff. You can also add some powerful boosters to that list that disliked him as well.
