Maybe a few of you who are tired of it can throw in some ice fishing jokes to add levity. Steal them from the MIAC board if you have to.  ;)

You say that like its a bad thing.

What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I'm thinking of buying this for ice fishing and beer drinking so I can hang with those guys talking Australian Rules Football.

How dare ESPN run this story, based on a tweet, before an official announcement is made!!!!! Shame on them!!!!!!!!!!!  Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa! ;D

My point exactly....this sort of thing happens all the time.

And absolutely not the point.  Has anybody said it doesn't happen all the time?  Does that justify it happening?
Hey Journalism majors- You know what else happens "all the time"?- Reporters get a scoop but choose not to publicize it in advance.
Some of us wish it would have happened this time with the RP.  Respect the process over your own glory.

Enjoy the boards everyone. I've enjoyed the banter with you all.

GO HAWKS!  ;D

I guess I missed a lot as I haven't logged on since yesterday.  I'm not sure what I missed, but it must have been some good stuff.

Bleed, I'm always in your corner.

So shame on Rob Demovsky (and ESPN) for telling Packers fans that Ron Zook is rumored to be the next Special Teams Coach? I don't see Packers' fans raising a stink that this was written prior to it being official. It's really not that big of a deal.

It isn't the media's job to wait until the institution makes anything official, whether it's mainstream media or a small-town college paper. If you have a credible source, and it turns out to be correct...roll with it. Unless, of course, they were told something "off the record", you can burn bridges if you print something when you were told not to. If tweets from players were made about Bullis, then that's not exactly the RP being told in confidence. Seems like this displeasure should be directed at the player(s) who tweeted this, not the RP.

Like I said before, shame on the RP if they printed something false...which I don't think is the case here.

Emma, I'm never in your corner.

I've forgotten more about the "process" and journalism than you have or ever will know. But I will bow to your expertise and experience in this subject matter....

Yep. It is time to admit those of us with degrees in journalism and life experience in the field simply don't know as much as Emma.

Apparently humility and prudence are among what you've forgotten.  Why so irritable? Brian Williams your idol or something?

You will never admit it. And actually it IS sad.  But if the past few pages are any indication it is absolutely true.

Thats funny right there -- and to think Brian Williams believes Americans are so simple that we'll buy his "conflated" argument makes me think he's an azzhole...on top of being a liar.  A PROVEN liar at that.

Won't find me defending Brian Williams, from everything I've seen on this so far. Too bad -- he seemed like the last hope for the Big Three in TV news.
