Well, yeah. But that's only because my AMC Pacer is in the shop, my Gremlin's up on cement blocks in the back yard, and someone stole my DeLorean...
But you slap a Confederate flag on the roof and the number 01 on it and my Pinto could be mistaken for the General Lee's baby brother...

badgerwarhawk - well, yes, I do use a broad brush, and cast a big net, since the well is deep, and the fishes are many here regarding how long I've been posting, and how many have complained on here over those years about others not posting here... Not gonna rehash all that now, though...

I do, however, owe you, bw, an apology for lumping you into that mix; your posts are always supportive and positive about your Hawks, and the rest of the league... Others should take note of your words and posts...

In defending my position (which, if you are not a Warhawk, and are outnumbered by that "machine" here ;) ), it's often taken as negative or getting into a pissing match by you collective UWW posters. But when getting gang tackled by those UWW posters, I fall victim to blasting them sometimes, but call others out for it, too.

But I won't resort to that at this time.. They know who they are... As do, I believe, those UWWers who tend to keep things positive here, such as 02 Warhawk as the lastest example...
Carry on...

How many people said you were in a pissing match w Bobo?
You must come from the same school of communication tactics as a couple of other guys I've seen on these boards.
Argue your point without exaggeration please.

You're exactly contributing to what Bulk19 is talking about, emma.

I truly have no idea what you're talking about nor do I have any idea what Bulk's actual complaint is about.
It may simply be my inability to read between the lines.  When I read Bulk saying he's been "gang tackled" by "those UWW posters" I assume he is literally saying that multiple UWW fans will attack his opinion - because they are UWW fans.
Is that Bulk's point?

Yes. And you piled right on and proved his point. :)

From the guy who persistently creates strawmen from other people's arguments, but gets angry when those other people contradict direct quotes of his own and says they're "misrepresenting" his point, then continues passive-aggressively saying the royal they are the problem for weeks after the prior debates have settled down ("You must come from the same school of communication tactics as a couple of other guys I've seen on these boards")...this is fabulous.

Isn't it true that the only person discussing Bulk's point about Dennis Thurgood was Bobo?

Isn't it true that Bulk posted the following even though Bobo was the only UWW fan discussing the subject?  "Funny how you UWW guys always whine about nobody else ever posting on here. And when they do, they are belittled or ignored (do I really need to start listing them?). Or if we defend our positions, are labeled as being in a pissing match..."

And isn't it true that even though Bobo was the only UWW fan discussing the subject, Bulk chose to post the following?  "In defending my position (which, if you are not a Warhawk, and are outnumbered by that "machine" here ;) ), it's often taken as negative or getting into a pissing match by you collective UWW posters. But when getting gang tackled by those UWW posters, I fall victim to blasting them sometimes, but call others out for it, too."

Maybe I'm just too black and white for such smart guys like you, Ex and Bulk.  You see, in my world, if you have to embellish and exaggerate to make a point, you don't have much of a point.

Bulk was crying like a baby because Bobo challenged him, and then he called out other UWW fans in his tantrum.  I don't reward tantrums.

These two statements, juxtaposed next to one another in the very same post, are absolutely fantastic.  In consecutive sentences!!!

Rock on, emma.

The recent discussion paired with much of the back and forth this year on the board are why I've chosen not to post regularly.  I realize that it's the offseason and there isn't much to talk about, but when each post gets dissected down to the very minute details it makes it hard for others to want to join in.

I don't believe that it is the intention of UWW fans to exclude anyone from commenting, but the few times that I have posted this year went without much of a response or got lost in another discussion.  I read the board pretty regularly and try to keep up with what's going on over here but when it comes to actually participating I guess I don't feel like my posts getting picked apart letter by letter.  Whether UWW fans feel its fair or not, discussions on whether other D3 head coaches are good enough candidates for their job or how many quality coaches didn't apply because of their own career aspirations comes across a bit arrogant, but that's not the problem.  When they are followed by 10+ pages of analyzing each post and who said what it becomes downright excruciating and is what turns people off from contributing.

In defense of the UWW posters, it does seem like when a poster from another WIAC school contributes they go out of their way to engage them in hopes of spurring more posters from other schools to join in.  I'm going to try to be more active here and see how it goes (and if I actually have enough time outside of work to contribute).  Hopefully we can find some regular posters from schools other than UWW to help add to the discussion.

ScreamingEagles,  great post.

Bulk19, I agree with everything you wrote.

I don't think I have ever seen a longer sentence so completely mischaracterize someone in my life.
You are good at what you do, Ex. You should be the press secretary for the White House.

Thanks for your post SE. I am guessing most guys will make an effort to engage when you post. I appreciate your willingness to give it a shot.  ;)

You're just mischaracterizing me.

But seriously, this is a pattern.  jknezek pointed it out a few weeks ago.  This is now the fourth incidence in the last few months of someone that disagreed with emma getting a call-out that reads more or less the same way every time - some reference to mischaracterization or intellectual dishonesty or whatever the hot phrase of the week is.  At what point do we accept that maybe the other guys aren't the ones with a "mischaracterization" problem?

ExTP -- I have twin 3 year old sons. They don't have the best logic skills yet, so when they aren't getting their way they just yell the same thing over and over louder and louder. I hope and trust that with guidance and time they will grow out of it like my five year old daughter has, but there are people in this world that are examples of lifelong exceptions.

Powder blue 1962 Mercury Comet with a stick shift no less.  I rocked.

For the record I regret ever asking how fast Dennis ran the 40.  Had I known what it would lead to I would have just left it alone.  ???

And that's the real problem, because it was a perfectly legitimate and interesting question.

Because classic automobiles are the safe alternative, I love my 1976 GMC motor home with an Olds 455 and th425 transmission and greatly miss my 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with one of the last American mass production carbourated engines.
