Wasn't there a really well done marketing video released not too long ago for UWL?
I think it celebrated the many UWL national accomplishments while showing some great clips of the campus.
Not that one video will make all the difference but it was an initial effort.

https://youtu.be/ks8MZ1CEDtI

An alum that played on one of the National Title teams owns a video production business and did this video (and others) back in 2011, coinciding with Dettwiler's first season as head coach.  It was a nice initial effort but the team's performance did not live up to the videos so far.

If you search around on Richter Studio's YouTube channel you will find a few more UWL Football videos, one on the track and field program, and also one for the NCAA Wrestling Championships that were held in La Crosse in 2012.  Might see a familiar location in that one (I think).

It's a very nice vid.  Really professional and clean.

It may simply be my inability to read between the lines.

From the guy who persistently creates strawmen from other people's arguments, but gets angry when those other people contradict direct quotes of his own and says they're "misrepresenting" his point, then continues passive-aggressively saying the royal they are the problem for weeks after the prior debates have settled down ("You must come from the same school of communication tactics as a couple of other guys I've seen on these boards")...this is fabulous.

I don't think I have ever seen a longer sentence so completely mischaracterize someone in my life.
You are good at what you do, Ex. You should be the press secretary for the White House.

You're just mischaracterizing me.

But seriously, this is a pattern.  jknezek pointed it out a few weeks ago.  This is now the fourth incidence in the last few months of someone that disagreed with emma getting a call-out that reads more or less the same way every time - some reference to mischaracterization or intellectual dishonesty or whatever the hot phrase of the week is.  At what point do we accept that maybe the other guys aren't the ones with a "mischaracterization" problem?
Or maybe people are allowed to have differing opinions and just learn to agree to disagree.....but wait, that would mean everyone would have to act like a mature adult!    Sorry,   8-)   ;)

Perhaps the football team is just caught in a downward cycle right now? (Like I hope my EC Blugolds mens' basketall team is... The pain, oh the pain.  ;) )

I am guessing the good folks at UW-L are hoping their football team is in something different than the "downward cycle" of your Blugolds. 14 consecutive seasons (and counting) without a winning record in conference may stretch the Eagles' fans patience a bit.  They are sitting at eight right now and it probably feels like an eternity.

Powder blue 1962 Mercury Comet with a stick shift no less.  I rocked.

You still rock, BW. Even though they don't let you drive anymore.  ;)

Ha.
BW, my grandmother drove the other powder blue Comet that was made that year, only she opted for the manual transmission. Seriously, she did drive a powder blue Comet, maybe it was a '72 though.  That car was cool back in the day.

BW, I didn't realize the lore involved in your Comet. From Wiki:

The Comet was originally planned as an Edsel model. It was reassigned to Mercury dealerships after the demise of the Edsel marque, where it was marketed as a standalone product for 1960 and 1961 as the Comet.

Developed concurrently with the Ford Falcon, early pre-production photographs of the sedan show a car remarkably close to the Comet that emerged, but with a split grille following the pattern established by Edsel models. Early Ford styling mules for the station wagon model carried the Edsel name as well.

At their debut, the split grille was replaced by one more in keeping with Mercury's design themes. However, the canted elliptical taillights, first seen on the Edsel prototype, were used and carried the "E" (Edsel) part number on them. While the short lived 1960 Edsels used elliptical shaped taillights, the lenses used on both cars differed in length and width. Certain other parts from the 1959 Edsel parts bin, including the parking lights and dashboard knobs, were used on the first-year Comet. Keys for the 1960 and 1961 Comets were shaped like Edsel keys, with the center bar of the "E" removed to form a "C".

If "Gordon Melvin" doesn't go in the first round I'll be surprised.  You'd think that Milwaukee is close enough to Madison that they'd have heard of him.  ???

Thanks for sharing the link.  While it doesn't say how fast he ran the 40 ;) at least he got noticed.  Good luck to him.

Official confirmation about Morningside College game:

https://www.morningside.edu/news/mustangs-announce-2015-football-schedule/

Only problem I guess is that it's a Thursday night game. And it's in IA so I don't know how big the Warhawk contingent will be.

Old Gold

I think the Gordon Melvin was a typo as I don't think it was in the video version.....but you're right it is glaring.  Things that make ya go hmmmmmm

Morningside appears to be in Sioux City - which is all the way on the far side of Iowa.  That's a long road trip.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I know I was seriously considering going but then I looked at a map.

The UW-W football team won the national championship in 2014.  What are they pursuing in the classroom? Can you guess the most popular field of study among the players on the 2014 team?  For a complete breakdown of the academic majors:

All-time worst record picking games?

I still like our odds

I always pick the team without a Lance coaching.

It looks like his record picking games was 6-109.
