Mr. Ypsi

So, does Wisconsin need to change from red to purple for tomorrow - or is that just in D3?! ;D

Tonight's national championship game should be a blowout. I mean what chance does a small liberal arts college have against a large cheaper state school?

amiright!?!?

Yup.  Wisconsin should have to move up a division.  Quick, grab the website D0Hoops.com!!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I'm pulling for Bo Ryan; he has coached two against vs. HSC and his niece is a good friend of our family. She happened to be an AA b'baller at University of Richmond. Plus I can't stand Duke.

It stinks that part of the discussion today involves the refs.
I certainly believe Duke played better down the stretch so I'm not one to say UW would have won if not for the refs.
Yet, I sure wish there was a better way. The world saw Winslow's finger tip bend as he touched the ball heading out of bounds, but for some reason the technology the refs used didn't show the same?

I don't know what the answer is but I'm confident there will be improvements.

Agree, that followed the inbounds base and stepping on the line.
Trite, but good game for the neutral.

I couldn't believe they didn't reverse that call. But then I thought, I'm sitting here watching it on my 55" HDTV, the refs are probably watching the same angles on what, 24-32" mini-monitor they can set on the scorers table when they need it. If I'd been trying to distinguish the very tip of his finger tip brushing that ball (which it clearly did), it would have been much harder on that small monitor. But it's something they have to rectify. Because most of America was watching that game on large monitors.

Aside from Bo's protests after the fact though, Wisconsin had their chances to win and couldn't close down the stretch. I was bummed, I wanted them to cut down the nets. But I don't think this is on the refs. Shoot, Duke was in foul trouble the entire game and only 2 fouls were called on the entire Wisconsin team in the first half. As much as I think Duke gets favorable officiating in the ACC, I didn't see it last night. There were questionable calls, but they seemed to go both ways. And in the end, each team had full control of their destiny.

They missed a travel on that play as well.   ???

But the refs weren't the biggest problem the BADGERS faced.  The biggest problem we faced were the Duke guards who we simply could not stop.  Jones and Allen went 12-21 from the floor and 12-12 at the line accounting for over half (39)  of Duke's points.

Though this isn't football related I thought I'd post it because it highlights the potential problems our state schools will have with the proposed budget cuts.

UW-Oshkosh will eliminate two sports.
