Just Bill -
While I am still pondering what the word of the day for tomorrow will be, I deem thee with the honorary one-day title of Just Troll!  ;)

bleedpurple

Justbill and Bulk19,

It's really great to see you guys contributing in a positive way to the boards. But since this is a football message board, let's get back on point shall we?

How do expect the teams you follow to fare against UW-W this year?  Pretty much like every other year in the recent past or do you think they can actually put together some semblance of a competitive game?

Mea culpa, mea culpa...
Did you not see through your purple-tinted glasses the posts by emma and Boob that instigated this topic? Apparently not...

As for UWW this upcoming season, I was hoping for some insight from Bobo as to how VK would do with the UWW team if he were coaching it before I make my predictions on the 2015 season. But it will probably be the same as the last decade or so.... UWW will roll through the conference and playoffs again to another Stagg Bowl title, and many UWW posters who live vicariously through the team will gloat here...

And then you will do our best to press our buttons in the off season.  ;)

Oh, by the way B19.  I don't NEED purple tinted glasses. The D3 world IS purple...in case you haven't noticed.  ;D

As bleedpurple points at the scoreboard, er scoreboards, plural, I was going to single this out as a perfect example of the word GLOAT, but I must admit, it was a pretty good and clever post. Touche... Deserves a +k

No, I expressed an opinion and when it clearly offended some posters I decided to run with it because their outrage was so ridiculous. Good times.

You are like a Spammer aren't you.  Sit back, eat your popcorn, snicker while you admire your clever handiwork- yep Goodtimes.

Actually, he's trolling you guys, as he said. That's the term. Best part is, we all know he's trolling you guys, he's even said it out loud, but the bait still gets taken.

Right I get it- he's a troll.
The question is- what kind of guy actually thinks it's cool to "troll" a message board?
The answer- the same kind of dufus that thinks it's cool to Spam people.

No, you still don't get it.

In general, Just Bill is very much NOT a troll.  But your reactions were so over-the-top that 'baiting' you was irresistible.  (I used to do the same with JT on the late, unlamented Politics thread.)  No one who could invent The BeltTM could possibly be a troll! ;D

And he very definitely did not 'spam' anyone.  You and BoBo have posted far more during this 'discussion' than Just Bill has.

I'm just not as smart as you guys to understand what trolling or being a troll is. In this very thread of posts Pat not only identified JB's posts as trolling but JB himself acknowledged it.
Yet, Ypsi- you say I don't get it because he isn't a troll- but rather a "baiter".
I'm just not smart enough to make heads or tails out of it all.

My preference is that people should feel free to post whatever opinion they want to post on whatever board they wish to post it on- as long as it's a true opinion to them and they have every intention to support it. If that makes a person a troll, then trolling isn't so bad.
If you're just creating discord because you think it's fun- then you're a giant D Bag.

It's ironic that I, one who was called out recently here for not engaging in positive posting, just last week I offered a serious question about what members here would do if they were a coach and caught a player texting while driving... And yet, only one person, emma, offered his opinion... Is this too deep a subject, not Xs and Os, for forum members here to handle, or what?  ;D

If this UWW-dominated forum wants participation from other WIACers, I suggest you respond here and there to our non-UWW posts. Else we (those who don't worship at the purple altar), will insert ourselves into UWW conversations and offer our OPINIONS about backup Packer QBs, and hypothetical coaching situations within D3, and whatever the Warhawk topic du jour is. If you don't like our OPINIONS, deal with it. Perhaps even stiffle it. And if you fall for the bait, shame on you...

But if you guys want to suggest that the conversation is in the crapper, and want to criticize us non-Hawks for having our opinions (and defending them and ourselves) against personal attacks for holding them, be prepared for the conversations that usually occur here when we are attacked...

By everyone I meant Hawk and non-Hawk fans alike.

Also, I don't recall you asking about texting and driving...I guess I don't come on here enough to keep up with all the conversations.

Couldn't agree more.  >:( The silver lining is that the state of the board, these last 3-4 months, has helped me, finally, break my 10 year long Post Patterns obsession.  That's a good thing, I guess................   ;D ::)

I'll take the other side of the idea that this thread has gone down the crapper this off-season.
Yes, some of the posts get a bit personal and argumentative- and many of us can make improvements in how we communicate with each other if we choose to do so.
That said, 02 and 413 and all the rest of us are free to post whatever topics we want to post.  If you don't like the subject, ignore and post something you find more interesting.
In other words, quit yer whining and do something about it.

Example,
This has very little to do with UWW (but I could find a way to relate it).  If Tom Brady gets suspended due to deflate gate (now this would be an interesting subject to discuss), I believe the next QB in line is Jimmy Garoppolo.  Jimmy played college ball at Eastern IL Univ and high school ball at Rolling Meadows HS in IL.  I am aware that both Jimmy and Matt Blanchard attended the same QB guru training in IL (the UWW link).  Jimmy was voted the best looking QB on the Patriots in 2014.
Linked to this geographically is Scott Tolzien, the guaranteed #2 (smart alec) QB with the Packers.  Scott was born in Rolling Meadows, but played his HS ball in the neighboring town of Palatine at Fremd HS.
Pretty cool that two local guys are doing so well at such a difficult position.

And you couldn't make your point without this???  Case in point................... ::)

It's not the subject matter, 17.  It's the, "some of the posts get a bit personal and argumentative," part.   A huge understatement these days but that is just my opinion and we are all entitled to those, right?   ::)

I could do something about this thread having gone down the crapper this offseason, but I'm not sure everyone would prefer the method I'd use. :)
