I haven't seen discussion on this page about the preseason All-American team. http://www.d3football.com/awards/all-americans/2015-preseason 9 of the 25 first team players are from either Mount Union (6) or Whitewater (3). Anyone else from the WIAC who could have made the cut?

That is an amazing stat.  Of the 22 offensive and defensive positions, Mt Union has 6 players on their roster considered to be the best in the country at their respective position.  3 is impressive too.

As for other WIAC players, I'd have to guess there are several that could compete with those on the AA list, which I believe to be true for many other conferences as well.  I personally don't get too wrapped up in the AA's because there are just too many players to really know, and it's very difficult to compare ability based on each team's scheme and approach.

I think of three guys we saw last year- the UWRF QB, the Macalester QB and the Linfield QB- those guys were really good.  I know the Macalester kid was a senior, I'm just saying he was a stud, but I don't think there was room in the AA for him.  Both UWP and UWO had some tough linemen.

Well, if the River Falls QB who showed up vs UWW was found performing some of the same magic during the first 9 games of last season and, if his team would have had a few more W's, like 5 more - he might have had some consideration. So, like the old quip goes:  And if my grandmother had ______ she'd be my grandpa!

Quick update on the Macalester QB, Samson Bialostok.  He is playing professionally this summer for the Tempere Saints in Tempere, Finland. Now, that's got to be one beautiful place to play the game: where the raindeer and brown bear roam freely, where the two-legged blonds are plentiful (and also roam freely, I understand!!), and the northern lights color the night sky, although only in the winter since the Finland summer is the land of the midnight sun.  From viewing the video linked below, I guess the only thing not so beautiful is the Saints gridiron. Looks too much like a soccer game is going to break out. And it looks like they constructed the county fairgrounds-styled grandstand for their fans, ala the catdome. And where are those beautiful blonds in skimpy outfits leading the cheers?  Still, the saint fans probably just call the place, what else? Heaven Stadium.
Tempere Saints 2015 Link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4eWfaoJM5o  skip forward to the 4:21 mark to see the Samson Bialostok highlight area.  Although it might look like déjà vu to the fans who watched that game last seaon, it isn't UWW playing uninspired defense this time around, but rather a bunch of Fins & other Euro-dudes living out a dream, but, apparently, not really knowing what to do.

Basically the Linfield QB's probably was in the AA discussion based on the Linfield name and record. But, with a Linfield player already selected on defense you just knew that the d3football.com gods had to pick the Wesley QB otherwise no Wesley kids would be on the list...and that's just not right!!

Josh Williams of Elmhurst the AA RB?  Makes one wonder...hmmm.

Evidently UW-WHITEWATER just wasn't the right fit for him.  He was only on campus briefly before deciding to leave.  He's certainly having a lot of success at Elmhurst so it's worked out well for him in that regard.  One can always speculate about what might have been but in this instance I've got no problem with what has been.  We've got Moore, Ratliff and Patterson all returning and Elmhurst has their guy.

You're making this too hard.  Look at the 2014 All-Americans.  Kevin Burke (graduated), Matt Behrendt (graduated), Logan Schrader (rising senior), Mark Myers (graduated).  So Logan Schrader is the top returning QB.  We need a second team QB for the preseason list.  Let's take a look at the All-Region lists.  Joe Callahan- first team South.  Sam Riddle- not listed in the West region, and is actually behind both Schrader and Ayrton Scott of Augsburg in his own region...perhaps more that we don't know about.  So Callahan is the guy.  It's not rocket problems.

Anybody hear anything about Justin Dishler's knee?
I know he was hobbled in the Stagg and I haven't thought to ask if he needed surgery or if it's all healed.

By the way, how you doing on the UWL QB stat change there, bud?  ;D

Ding ding! Tell him what he's won!

Riddle, curiously, was only honorable mention all-conference for the NWC, so he wasn't even eligible for the All-Region team last year. That isn't necessarily a deterrent for this year's preseason All-America team, but we didn't need to go further than Schrader and Callahan.

4 FIRST TEAM All-Americans on a defense that gave up 552 yards in the biggest game of their lives 7 months ago. Right.

Ok, ok, so slap me in the back of the head (again). I get it - in essence, the Wesley guy gets picked by default. Regardless, it will be interesting to see who, if anyone, can break through and make a name for themselves this year.

I agree, not knocking him, just thinking about how things might have been different for him and UWW had he stayed. My hmmm had nothing to do with jersey color, btw.

Part of my hmmm was that 2012 was a pretty decent recruiting year, brought in a lot of quality RB's, 3/4 of which stayed with the team. Hope Patterson can finally remain healthy this year.

Feel free to take any pot shots at me you want. I'm a big boy and can take whatever turns your crank.

However, my guess is that you know absolutely nothing about the "Wesley guy" who you say earned it, starting with his name.
