Next time take some notes, bulk. Your memory's attention to detail is a little lacking.  What color were the drink bottles?

If a round of football takes place but no UWW people are there to witness it, does the round really happen?

Point...embarrassing showing at Albion.  65 points given up.  :o

Rough week for the wiac.

I would say so. Embarrassing losses by Point and Eau Claire.  Disappointing losses for River Falls and Oshkosh. At least LaCrosse and Platteville got wins.

Oshkosh missed extra points after two 4th quarter TD's (1 blocked attempt, 1 failed 2 pt conversion) that could've potentially sent their game into OT. Second consecutive year the Titans lose to Bob Morris.

I think this is even worse.  The stats show UWO went for two and failed after their first touchdown, resulting in a tie game of 6-6.  They then had an extra point kick blocked, resulting in a score of 23-15.  They went for two on last TD and failed, losing the game by 2 points.
Is UWO lacking a kicker?  Is the coach lacking confidence?
This reminds me of when Bethel had a good team a few years ago but couldn't kick an extra point.
Silly at the college level.

UWL hung on to beat the Luther Norse 26-19 before a good crowd on a humid night in La Crosse, and the players and coaches are to be congratulated. Compliments to the Norse for a spirited effort, and to their many fans who made the trip to back their team. During preseason media events, coach Dettwiler indicated that this Eagle team would be able to close out the tight games which eluded a more experienced squad last year. The first test has been passed, and I hope they get into a habit of expecting to win the close ones. The offense put 26 pts. on the board, and the defense hung on in the clutch. Having said that, the Eagles were far from dominant on either side of the ball. Indeed, the running game was mediocre at best, and stupid defensive penalties almost allowed the Norse to pull out the win. 5-5 seems to be a realistic goal for this edition of UWL football.

Great turnout for this game - although it seemed more due to the traveling Luther crowd than UWL supporters showing up.  It was encouraging to see the Eagles close out a tight game and make plays when it counted.  First half was pretty sloppy, but the Eagles really picked it up and got into a rhythm right away in the second.  Santucci showed some explosiveness but was really the only skill position guy for the Eagles to do that from my vantage point.  Defense didn't play great but got the job done.

It would have been nice for UWL to take advantage of the difference in talent and put Luther away but it never happened.  From the stands it felt like it should have been more of a 35-10 or so final score but they let Luther hang around.  A win is a win and we need as many of those as we can get - next week against St. Thomas will definitely be a challenge after they pounded UWEC.

I was able to catch the UB game on the ESPN app, what a great all around victory for the team.
After UB went 3 and out and Albany cut through the UB defense like butter on their opening drive, my wife and I were discussing the likelihood that the Buffalo message boards were lighting up.
After that Albany TD, UB was extremely impressive. Not just play making, but sharp execution. Their QB is really good and plays in a similar style as Berhendt. He put the ball in some precise locations and his receivers/TE's made plays. Multiple formations as Kotelnicki likes- but added more fast motion. Even the special teams had a day, returning a punt for a TD- the first time in something like 13 years. The game was a ton of fun to watch.

Did anyone actually see the play? Since it was a failed run by Connor Senger (backup QB) that makes me think Connor was the holder for the XP attempt, and it was a botched snapped, possibly. I'm guessing he just scooped it up and tried running it in, but obviously came up short. That would make more sense, rather than actually lining up and going for 2 in that situation.

Looks like UWO was really missing Nate Ray from last year in that game.

Both teams in my opinion played very sloppy UWL just seem to capitalize on Luthers mistakes all night.

No question - fairly normal for the first game of the season.  It was evident that UWL has potential to be much better than past years, particularly on offense with a Senior QB and a couple talented WR's.  It will be interesting how this weekend against St. Thomas goes.

Curious to see that UMU lost 2 first place votes after week 1 and UWW and Linfield split them. Curious how after a 47-0 win you can lose votes when UWW and Linfield haven't played yet but I won't complain lol

Those two voters must have noticed that UMU failed to cover mr_mom's OAC Pickem's spread of -53.5 points.

Good point 02- I would think you're exactly right. That means the extra point team likely blew a snap on one and had a kick blocked on another. Such a shame as UWO may face the same hurdles they did last year for playoff participation if the balance of the season goes similar to 2014.

Well their next two games are against Finlandia and North Park instead of Marian and South Dakota State.  So there's always that...

North Park may not be as easy as you assume (they're rapidly becoming mid-level CCIW), but yeah, Finlandia may have trouble scoring a point this season.

Maybe so, but still...

If the Titans don't take down North Park, then I think they more immediate things to be concerned about than playoff participation.
