I was severely tempted to write a post that said simply "Blanchard has no chance with Cleveland" and just leave it sit there, but I resisted.

Maybe I'm growing up. Dang it.

It's Friday...give emma a break  ;D

USee,
It has been mentioned about Platteville's QB Kelly and their DE Robinson as the 2 best players at P-ville and I'm not going to argue that but they are more than a 2 player team. P-ville's O-line doesn't get enough credit one reason why Kelly's completion % is so high is he has all day to throw another reason is he has two tall wide receivers in Munda (6'4") and Martin (6'3").  P-ville's defense has been sort of a bend don't break and it will be interesting how they hold up once the competition a little stronger.  As for this weekend North Central is definitely a step up from Dubuque and Buena Vista and each school has a tough schedule after Saturday.  A win Saturday could pay dividends come November.

Huh?  It doesn't look to me like you resisted it.  ;)  :D

Maybe we can have a color coding system.

Got a chance to see the photo gallery of the Belhaven game on warhawkfootball.com.

Nice pictures, a lot better than the webcast - though the webcast was better than nothing.

Those Belhaven uni's - man, talk about color overload.  Jeepers.  I like a little style in a team's look, but that looks like an acid trip at the House on the Rock.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

There are some great remembrances of the late Janesville Flash, a WIAC poster and father of a Whitewater player, on the MIAC board. Thought you guys might like to hear what's being said about one of your own.

I met Tom at a SJU @ UW-River Falls game. Great guy with a great sense of humor. Always added a lot of fun to this board. I remember him saying he was having trouble with his eyes and had to stay off the computer for awhile.

I will be back next week to get this conversation on the right track.

RIP.

I first met Tom at UW-Whitewater the first play-off contest between SJU and UWW.  I believe he told me to look for a fat old guy that looked like Santa drinking beer from the trunk of a Cadillac.  His description was spot-on!  ;D  After that, he mailed me a very nice Warhawk football cap.

It is with great sadness that I inform you Janesville Flash, aka Old Pa, aka Tom Mabry passed away last night.  He had been diagnosed with cancer in March.

Tom was a great guy, his humor will be greatly missed.

Dang.  Flash was a nice guy with a great personality. I remember his ambition to buy a motorised bar stool, making trips to the bar easier.  I'm sad that he's gone. RIP.

Maybe you could share an obituary if one is available online?

I will when it becomes available.

DuffMan, I knew you would mention the fat Santa with the beer in the Cadillac.  I believe we we walked over together to find Tom.  It was very easy in a fairly large parking lot.

What I'm thinking tonight is that I wish I could enjoy one more adult beverage from the trunk of OldPa, aka the Janesville Flash.  Hoping he got that motorized bar stool in heaven.

Thanks Pat. Tom obviously made friends easily and was a lot of fun to be around. My condolences to his family and all who love him.

Big victory for Platteville over North Central.  Platteville won the passing  game and NCC won the ground game but if you take away 2 long TD runs by NCC Platteville's defense played well on the flip side if Platteville doesn't have a long punt return late in the game there would be no OT period. Platteville scores a TD and  then shuts NCC  down in OT. Platteville's win and Oshkosh's win hopefully will make up for  Wheaton's win over EC in  November.

UWW's game vs Morningside College on Thursday night at Elwood Olsen Stadium in Sioux City, Iowa will likely be the first ever matchup between NAIA and NCAA Division III No. 1-ranked teams with Morningside poised to move up into the top spot in the NAIA poll after top-ranked Marian University lost 30-21 at No. 11 Robert Morris on Saturday and the 'hawks, of course, already #1 in DIII. Morningside, #2 in the NAIA poll heading into the weekend, defeated Dordt 49-0 yesterday at Sioux Center, Iowa.

Thursday game will feature two of the nation's most successful teams in their respective divisions. Morningside (3-0) has made 11 consecutive post-season appearances in the NAIA Football Championship Series for the longest active streak in the NAIA nation. The Mustang's were NAIA runners-up in 2012. They have won four consecutive Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) championships and sport a 112-23 record, a .830 winning percentage, since the start of the 2004 season. The Mustangs have advanced to at least the semifinals of the NAIA Championship Series each of the last three years. Not to be outdone, since 2004, the Warhawks are 146-11 (.929 winning percentage).  The Warhawks (2-0) are flying high with a 34-game winning streak for the nations longest collegiate football winning streak and...you know the rest!

The 9.24.15 6:04 pm CT game will be streamed live on ESPN3.

I think the edge goes to Morningside in this one. Home field, 6th year Sr QB (you read that right) with a all his top WR's back and a lot of other starters.

Having said that, UWW knows how to close out the biggest games. For all Morningside's success (their offensive numbers were other-worldly last year), they are a bit like Oregon--gaudy numbers, tons of talent and yet have never put it all together to win it all.

Saturday was a great day for UW-W's freshman class. In Saturday's game, freshmen led the Hawks' individual statistics in the following categories:

Rushing Yardage
Passing Yardage
Receiving Yardage
Punt Return Yardage
Assisted Tackles
Solo Tackles
Total Tackles
Tackles For Loss
Sacks
Extra Points Made
Field Goals Made

In addition, the longest run (53 yards) was by a freshman , the longest pass play (57 yards) was from a freshman QB to a freshman WR, and four of the top five tacklers were freshmen.
