What a slugfest at Oshkosh yesterday. Congrats to the Titans who persevered in spite of losing two QB's.  I hope the news is better about them than I heard after the game.  Also, hoping  all those who couldn't dress for the Hawks can make it back soon, as well as those who got dinged yesterday.  Three really physical games in a row for UW-W.  Need to get healthy and keep getting better. For the team, nothing changes. Win or lose, the goal remains the same.  Get better every day and see where it takes us.

GO HAWKS!

I think we are seeing the difficulties of Whitewater integrating a new quarterback with a new offensive coaching staff.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Well said Sink.
I have to believe the talent is on the roster.  The staff will need to figure out who and how.

According to the Two Deep chart, UWL will start freshman Drew David of Sugar Grove Ill. at the QB position against Stout on Saturday. The gentleman appears to have leapfrogged two sophomores who have played to earn the start. I hope he can get some help from the running game to assist his efforts. Stout's defense has struggled, so it could be interesting.

Nice work finding that Brian.  I am excited to see what Drew can do - both Tackett and Thompson have played against a variety of opponents and haven't seen much success (although getting sacked so much doesn't help).  This is who I referenced around a month ago and he's a rare Illinois kid on UWL's team.  He played against stiffer high school competition than we see here in WI and played at Illinois State for a year.  Newspaper (high school) articles describe him as more of a dual threat guy, have to wonder if UWL will run more read option/spread plays with a different type of QB this week.

Nice win for UWL.
It looks like Tackett had a great game. Did the freshman start and get replaced by Tackett?

Interesting shuffling of the Top 25.
I have no issue with the pollsters decision to move UWW down to 6, heck, I could even see 7-10 until UWW proves the offense can score against the best defenses.
I am a bit surprised at UWO at 5.  No doubt they are a solid team, but I don't know they have the firepower yet.
I see the top 4 as:
Mt
Linfield
St Thomas
UMHB

The next 6 are a bit tougher to figure but I'd rank the "W" schools as:
Wheaton
Wartburg
UWO
UWW
Wesley
Wabash

Starting QB Drew David was injured during the game; Tackett then replaced him.

As noted by others above, starting QB Drew David was injured early in the game and was replaced by John Tackett.  Tackett played very well and UWL did not rotate in sophomore QB Andrew Thompson.  Good for the Eagles to get some confidence on a short week at Whitewater this Friday.

In our fan poll I put UWO 8th with UWW 9th. I feel the same way about their offense. They will struggle against a team with a strong defense this year. I have a feeling the Morningside game might have gone a little differently if it wasn't for the rain (they had two TDs gift wrapped for them).

If UWO would have handled UWW with ease, then I would strongly consider UWO a top 5 team. But since that didn't happen, just inside the top 10 seems about right.

Wartburg is still hanging on above UST in the D3 poll. I switched their order (in the west fan poll) after the Tommies beat the Johnnies as I think they've been more impressive in 2015. I have the Tommies (and Linfield) above the UW schools this week, but those would be excellent match-ups.

Any guesses as to how the committee will rank the West come early November?  I imagine Linfield #1, but after that it's a total crap shoot.

UWO will have a win over a top 10 region team
UWW has a win over UWP, which may or may not be a top 10 region team
Wartburg, will likely be undefeated, but win against Bethel will not rank in top 10
UST could be undfeated and have a regional win over perhaps a 9-1 SJU
SJU likley 9-1
UWP could jumble everything up with a win over UWO this weekend, or could sink with 2 losses

If UWO is #2, does that make UWW #3 by virture of a super close game?  Or do undefeated Wart and UST merit being ahead of UWW?  I honestly have no idea....but it'll be interesting.

There's a LOT of football left to be played before we start slotting who will be ranked where in the official regional rankings. The MIAC in particular is chock full of important games in the 2nd half of the season. In fact, most of the significant league games between the top 4-5 teams still have to be played.

Really a bummer how many QB's are getting hurt in the WIAC. Pretty crazy. Good job by Tackett stepping up. I agree that is probably huge for the Eagles.  They will be entering a hornet's nest Friday night so confidence going in will probably be important to them.

Now THAT is sweet. Awesome job Brady!  :) and it's not like the UW-W posters have run off and hid. It seems to me there's a normal number of posts, no?
