Leipold/Iowa State speculation....

http://footballscoop.com/news/why-lance-leipold-could-be-a-name-to-watch-at-iowa-state/

Not sure if ISU would pull the trigger. They have an amazing ability of getting in their own way. But I think he'd actually be a great hire for the Cyclones, especially given his Midwest roots. He'd be a great fit personality-wise in Iowa.

If I'm Leipold, not sure if this is the place I want to try my luck in the FBS though. Then again, with Kansas in totally suck mode and KSU seemingly a few years away from the end of the Syder era, maybe it's not the worst time to try to build a program at ISU. Still, I'd have to think long and hard about moving my family to Ames.  :-\

Well Technically the University of Buffalo is in the FBS, but not in the Power 5. Anyway, being from the Buffalo area, I do want them to do well so I hope Leipold stays there another year. They are just OK in the MAC this year but I'd like to see if he can make them better.

Good catch, Power 5 is what I was aiming for.

And for Buffalo, obviously keeping LL around would be ideal. But as I posted a few days back, the ground has shifted a bit under LL feet since the AD left for UCF. Always need to know the AD has your back and no AD has your back quite like the guy who hired you and hitched his reputation to your wagon.  :)

Very True, I had forgotten about the AD situation. Unfortunate for LL to have him leave.

Anyone know anything about ONU?
. Dont be surprised if onu falls behind a touchdown or three early and then comes storming back. That's been their MO all season...if they should gain an early lead...watch out Oshkosh be gosh. Lost to mount...and missed a chip shot FG for the win as time expired vs BW
Why the defense ain't werkin'?

Should be a great game to watch this weekend. Both have a chance to win but I think UWW is going to eek this one out. 24-17 is my guess.

I'm going 24-23, Wheaton, sorry. I think their homefield lets them just make it in a squeaker.

Sometimes homefield can be a distraction too. Wheaton is good, they can win so I won't doubt that. I think UWW's defense will be the best one they've seen this year. UWW also seems to have the ability to knock out QB's without trying.

Yes, 02, though it's easier having one toss up game decided.
SUNY Cortland (of course)
UMHB at home
ST probably away because NCAA says so in seeding.
And then you guys because you have 4 runners and a defense, of course.

The friend of a Badger fan ejected from the Northwestern game last Saturday - still upset that he was escorted out of CR and ruined their day (before the officials did), got back at the campus police with a prank...

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department received a strange, anonymous delivery of 20 dozen coconut doughnuts on Monday, the department posted on Facebook.

"We were confused. Nobody likes coconut doughnuts," the post said.

Police tracked down the man behind the delivery, and contacted him by email. Turns out they were protest doughnuts.

A friend was ejected from Saturday's Badgers game at Camp Randall Stadium. Individual seats are not assigned, but the stadium section is designated at entry. Twelve people in the man's group were assigned one section, and the friend was assigned a different one.

The friend tried to stick with the group and was ejected.

The doughnut sender was upset, "so he sent the department 20 dozen coconut doughnuts as a harmless sign of disapproval," the police department's Facebook post said. "Nobody likes coconut doughnuts. The store had to order ingredients to fulfill the order!"

The doughnuts were shared with a homeless shelter because according to UW Police Public Information Officer Marc Lovicott, "there's no way we'll be able to eat 240 doughnuts" with a staff of only 130.

Thank you, I was worried you might pick us.   Do you think you get about a dozen of your Johnnie buds to stop by and pick against us too?  I'd feel better.  ;)

I've made a rule to never pick against Mount Union or Whitewater unless or until they play each other.

I wonder if OzJohnie feels the same way about home field in the St Johns St Thomas game? If anyone wants some interesting reading  go to the MIAC board and read the posts makes the WW, Oshkosh attendance argument look like child's play.  ;D

Now, wait a minute.  There must be a typo here.

I'm sure that a staff of 130 Wisconsin cops could eat 240 doughnuts.  I think a staff of 30 cops could eat 240 doughnuts.

Maybe they decided it would be unfair that some people could only have one or two, so that was the motivation for giving them away?
I was small but made up for it by being slow...
