Congrats to Wisconsin Whitewater. 31-29 winners.

D O.C.

Is it true this is a smite site?

At least WE won by 3.  ;D

$2 says more people watching the OTHER game in your time zone next week.

Wow...tough game to swallow for the UWO kicker today. Missed extra point seemed to cost them the game. If UWO makes all their extra points, the game would have most likely went into OT.

I still don't understand those squib kicks in the second half? UWW took full advantage of getting the ball at mid field by scoring three times in the 3rd quarter. I realize they were into the wind, but still don't give UWW half the field to work with.

Both offenses and defenses made great plays today...but I think the differnce was special teams.

I believe that it is a mistake for a team to give a team the ball and the wind like the Titans did in the third quarter today. I know having the wind in the fourth quarter helped them win the first game, but this was a different type game. I remember two other games in which teams did that over the past few years against UW-W. The other two got blown out and had no chance by the time the fourth quarter started. The Titans were on the verge of being blown out also (31-16), but they made big plays and had stops on defense to give themselves a real chance. I just feel like giving UW-W both the ball and the wind to start the 3rd quarter increased the likelihood that the Titans would be playing catch up.

Just got back from the game and I will say this...

I have a hard time believing anybody in D3 right now is going to slow down UWW's running game. That O Line today absolutely mauled people. Loved that stuff!

Oshkosh probably felt like I did, kick it to a LB (Hoppe), he's going to stop the ball and fall on it. Only he didn't. I cringed the first time he scooped it up and ran (until the play was safely over) and cringed again, doubly, the second time he did it (again until the whistle blew and all was ok). I worked out well for WW but could have easily backfired with a fumble turnover or 2. Hoppe doesn't need to take the risk of returning those kicks.

I don't think the missed kick was the kickers fault. He'll probably tell you he should have had it, but I believe the snap and the hold where the issues, I have to watch it again, though the Journal-Sentinal story below called it a low snap.

This Cerroni's quote after the game was interesting:
Quote"They are an outstanding football team; so are we. This time we just came up short. Their offense is completely different than it was seven weeks ago. They figured it out."

Something WW fans, and it seems no one else, figured out many weeks ago. Yes, WW figured it out.

Humor at the expense of others posters shouldn't be tolerated. Sarcasm is acceptable but I can't say it's at all clear which posts are sarcastic and which are just plain mean.

If that's considered mean maybe the board should create a safe space that's free of micoaggressions and has trigger warnings and we only talk about positive things and fluffy bunnies.  :-X ::)

+1k on that one for sure.

I believe I was referring to the unbeaten streak?  Since you've got a new streak going maybe I can post it again if the Raiders win.

5179

Good to see Oshkosh come out for the game - attendance of 5179 reported in the box score was by far the best of all the quarterfinal sites or any game in Oshkosh this season. Whenever the camera panned the crowd, especially directly below the broadcast booth, you could see that there were a ton of WW fans sporting purple making the trip north - not bad for a Q-F December game. Good that the weather cooperated. Next week COULD be double that. Also, watching on-line, I think that was the best video production I can remember getting out of Oshkosh.  Wasn't perfect, but good. Even the two announcers weren't too annoying, this time. So, well done ladies and gents. I was recording the stream, but only had one issue of losing the signal late in the first half for a brief time.

I love Hoppe's attitude toward football, he seems like a great teammate.  As for his kick returns, I approached him after the game to congratulate him as the new UWW kick returner, figuring he'd get a kick out of it.  His reply was a purely serious "thanks man", that left me with no doubt that he truly sees that as his job, and in fact, that's what UWO gets for kicking to him.

Oh hello again my Wisconsin friends.
Man I HATE you guys...(said with respect).

Emma I am sure you will have much to say that UWO is probably the 2nd best team in all of D-III.  I may just agree with you this year.  :-)

Now you're talking.
To be fair to UWO, I'd say they are the #1 team in D3.

UWW is #1 in the NAIA.
