Also, I'd think most coaches would want to be able to say that *they* were the coach who developed the player, right?

Two guys on their way to As in this class... whomever takes care of the dry erase board gets an A+...  ;)

I don't see that the two are mutually exclusive.  UW-EC's new coach has #2 already and I'm sure he's doing his best to find #1 as well.  He can still use the fact that UW-EC football can produce potential NFL level prospects even though it's not necessarily his program that has done it.  With the right #1 he could generate a lot of enthusiasm as the athlete develops.  A skill position player would probably do that better than say linemen.

If the player is a stud receiver ala Pierre Garçon or QB like Alex Tanney, I'll go w answer A.
If the player is an O Lineman, on an otherwise 0-10 quality OLine, I'll go w answer B.

UW-L football: Change is in the air

http://lacrossetribune.com/sports/uw-l-football-change-is-in-the-air/article_2c261edb-41f9-5574-b759-3dd07fe4d7cd.html

QuoteThe UW-La Crosse football team concluded its spring practices Sunday with its eyes trained on a turnaround season this fall.

With new coach Mike Schmidt and offensive coordinator Jake Landry, the Eagles will employ an up-tempo, no-huddle offense designed to improve a unit that scored just 15.3 points per game last season. On defense, they're switching to a 4-3 front, primed to limit the running lanes for opponents after allowing more than 223 yards per game.

QuotePlayers from outside the program will also be in the picture for a starting role. Tarek Yaeggi — the 2013 Gatorade Player of the Year for Wisconsin — is transferring from NCAA Division I Buffalo. At 6-3, 200 pounds, he has a strong frame and a good arm.

There's the thinking of a wide receiver if I've ever seen it.

Football is about Jimmys and Joes. Always has been, always will be.  Take the player.

Platteville's WR Dan Arnold broke the WIAC record in the 110 meter high hurdles at the WIAC championships I think his time was 14.2.

That's impressive.
Although I believe hurdling a single defender is illegal in HS, I think it's still allowed in college.  That's a handy skill to have in the open field.

Came across this on the Iowa Board and I don't know anything about Hansen Ratings but they came out with a 2016 Preseason Football Ratings they predict:
1. Mount Union
2. St. Thomas
3. WW
Oshkosh comes in at 5, P-ville is 9 and SP is at 16.  Here is a link:

The local Time Warner Sports station will be re-airing a few UWW championship games (2 football, 1 basketball) over the next few months.

What would you like to know? I used to work as a GA at UWP, and I played at Wartburg. I started developing the ratings while I was at UWP. System is based off opponent-adjusted score differential.

The preseason ratings as they are now aren't final. They'll be adjusted once I can get every team's number of returning starters from d3football's Kickoff Coverage. Every returning starter more than/less than 7 is worth plus/minus 1.5 ppg for their unit.
Follow me on Twitter. I post fun graphs sometimes. @LogHanRatings

Thanks for the reply.  There are a million preseason publications for D1 its nice to see another resource for D3.

I have a feeling your rankings are going to generate quite a bit of interest from D3 posters.
I look forward to reading them and high five for taking it on.

Mount loses too much to be pre-season #1.  2015 was a very experienced group.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!
