How about a screen pass? Get these RBs in open space

I can't say this with certainty, but it sure feels like the pace is sloooower w Nelson.

02 Warhawk

Good god, what a dual running threat. These two are unbelievable

02 Warhawk

That wilber throw says it all. He plays like a senior...love it! Statement throw, possibly?

Belhaven QB not much better

He's a freshman, right? In that quirky system, it appears turnovers are not frowned upon. They are a much better team overall than last season, but I'm not sure WW is better this season (with Chris Nelson as QB).

Seems like Wilber is exponentially better than last year. When he played, with limited time last year he wasn't that good. Coaching staff has done an amazing job, time for him to be the starter going forward.

Glacier-like. Except when he's turning the ball over, which he did at alarming speed today.

Bullis kind of shot down that idea on the postgame interview, saying "Chris is our guy."

To the fans, the back up QB is many times the most liked guy on the team (by the fans), especially when the starter did nothing to give them confidence in his ability, like throwing 2 int's and fumbling twice, pretty much in quick succession.

Ricky Finco returning a punt for the Badgers today. Ramczk anchoring the 0-line at left tackle. Former D3 guys doing it for the Badgers.

palum

Platteville got past St. Francis an NAIA school they were ranked 14 but I don't know how that compares to D3 rankings.  One thing I was impressed with was Platteville's defense minus a last minute score they would have shut out their opponents two weeks in  a row. Going into the season everyone was talking about Platteville's offense and 10 returning starters and had questions about it's defense who lost DE Andrew Robinson and  LB Andrew Belken plus both Safeties.  From what I saw today they controlled the line of scrimmage and forced St. Francis's QB to hurry many of his throws and they were quick to get to the ball.  Again I wish Platteville played a D3 opponent but a win is a win.

Football Team Wins Home Opener over Ripon
Game Story: http://uwlathletics.com/news/2016/9/10/football-uwl-earns-win-in-home-opener.aspx
Box Score: http://uwlathletics.com/boxscore.aspx?id=3388&path=football

UWL pounded Ripon College 65-14 at home this afternoon.  The Eagles built a 55-0 lead before the 3rd and 4th stringers gave up a couple TD's in the fourth.  The most points the Eagles have scored since 2003.

Ripon is not a strong opponent, but it was great to see the Eagles take care of business for the second week in a row and look impressive doing it.  Good home opener for the Eagles and it's' awesome to see a confident UWL team - hopefully that can carry over to the conference season.

On the fumble he just held the ball way too long with a receiver wide open down the middle that I don't think he ever saw. The first 2 quarters were brutal to watch

I'll be very interested in the UWSP and Albion game this weekend, considering Albion almost pulled it off against Wabash a couple days ago. We'll see if Albion is just that good, or if Wabash lost a lot on defense from a year ago. It's rare for a Little Giants team to surrender 34 points in a game to a non-perennial power like that.

Context...there was a blocked punt return for a score and a pick six, so the Wabash defense didn't give up all 34.  Albion did find some things that worked in the second half, but only after they were held to 14 yards total offense in the first half.  Overall, I thought Wabash's defense held up pretty well against a tough offense to play in Week 1.  I think the D3FB community at large overcorrected for Albion's graduation losses.  Maybe UWSP beats them by 40 this week and I'm wrong. But from what I saw, Albion didn't look like a team that was starting over by any stretch.

Some things?...looking over the box score, it appears they found 31 things that worked in the second half.

Yeah, you missed the point.  02's posted indicated that Wabash gave up 34 points and that it looks like Wabash "lost a lot on defense".  I just wanted to clarify that the defense didn't give up all of those points.  One punt block for a TD, one pick six.  That's two touchdowns that happened with the defense on the sideline.  One other that I didn't mention earlier happened when a Wabash defender punched the ball out from an Albion receiver/runner, the loose ball bounced right up to another Albion player running in stride who took that in for a score.  So there's a third score on a play where Wabash's ought to have been rewarded with possession.  The point is, it's easy to see 41-34 and wonder if Wabash's defense is all of a sudden not good.  Do the digging, and it's not nearly as bad a look for the defense as 34 points allowed might have you believe.

Not hiding from the 300 yards Albion gained in the second half.  I don't care much for that, but Albion is a really good offensive team so they deserve credit.  But all of those points, in fact most of those points, aren't on the defense.

context - I guess it all depends on who they play ... UW-Stevens Point 50, Albion 13: Kyle Larson threw for 331 yards and one touchdown as the Pointers (2-0) demolished the visiting Britons (0-2).

I realize that your mission here is to bust my chops and that's fine, but you're still not paying any attention at all to the original conversation which was about those 34 points Albion scored against Wabash.  13 were on the defense.  21 were on returns.  Wabash surrendered fewer first downs and fewer yards to Albion than UWSP did and the same 13 points.  So not really much difference between the two looking strictly at the defense.  There are plenty of other reasons to see Wabash 41, Albion 34 and then UWSP 50, Albion 13 and do some head scratching where Wabash is concerned, but not the defense- which was the whole point.

But good for you, Bobo.  You've been waiting to unload that post all week.  Must have felt really good to hit send on that one.  Thumbs up for you.

Reading the box score of Stout-St. Thomas, the score disparity is a bit surprising.
Stout did ok in terms of total yards given up and they certainly didn't get killed by Roberts.
Looks like several big plays on D and Special Teams along w penalties drove the blowout score.

I caught a little of the UWSP game, they looked good and faster than I remember. They will be a tough out this year I imagine. UWL may also have something to say in the conference race. 2016 looks to be an absolute slugfest. The WIAC could end up w 4 teams in top 15.
