As SE points out, LC and RF have been very even the last few years, and it is nice to see the Eagles get the fairly easy win. This supports my belief that the new regime has the program heading in the right direction. The obvious difference is in the offense, which never got untracked under the previous leadership. I was, however, dismayed by the issues in the place kicking, which had been excellent in the first 3 games. Bring on the Warhawks.

That was a nice win. Congrats. UW-W isn't one to dodge a challenge, but we are a little occupied this week. Why don't you go up to Stout just for fun and we will catch you in a couple of weeks?  ;)

BP: Looking forward to it. Let me know if you are coming. I'm good for a beer or two.

Box score on d3football has Stevens Point with a total of 8 first downs in their win over Eau Claire. EC with only 6. Doesn't seem possible, but if that's accurate, it must have been, one, extremely boring 28-19 game in favor of the Pointers. Can anyone closer to the situation confirm/deny?

Plus, my new favorite team, Morthland, "improves" to 3-2 by beating Maranatha Baptist. Seems the Oshkosh beatdown is paying immediate dividends for the Patriots and impressed the Baptists. So much so, that the rumor mill reports that Maranatha is in conversations with Oshkosh for a home/home series within the next two years.  Stay tuned for that one.

On the subject of UWSP, does anybody know the situation with QB Kyle Larson?  I see he only played about one half last week and it looks like he didn't play at all yesterday.

Agreed, Coach Schmidt has this team going in the right direction.  I don't know how they'll fair vs. UWW, UWO and UWP, but they should win vs. UWEC and UWS in addition to their W vs. UWRF.  It feels like this is the year we are equal to UWSP in that 4/5 spot in the WIAC - time will tell.

Bobo: There are many good reasons to visit La Crosse, and you should come and take a look-see. Please bring some money.

You're preaching to the choir BRC...I know all about LaX...have already spent a ton of $$$ at that school/city.

EDIT:  My sources tell me that this past weekend Kül Light was on sale for $5.99 a case. You could get 72 beers for the same price as a Busch Light 30 pack. Hooray for Oktobeerfest.

I know of a certain Platteville middle linebacker who might title this "Ten and a Half Minutes to Forget."

I couldn't help but imagine hearing the "Voice of God" from NFL Films John Facenda telling us about it and THAT    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmJhSF86H9U  music.

UWW at UWP sure was a great game to watch. UWP continues to get better on D and, of course, their O is always dangerous. Arnold is a tough assignment for any player and the rest of the receiver Corp are highly capable.
Big congrats to the UWW players and coaching staff. Played through the highs and lows of a tight game and once again found a way to keep cool and make plays to come out on top.

I was thrilled to see the offense use a much greater varieity of routes, which made a big difference in moving the chains and creating opportunities.

The pass defense sure has been tested. 3/4 of a mile in passing yards over the last 3 games- but not a lot of points. Great work from all the D players to throttle the high scoring teams.

UWO will bring the balance. I assume they are running that miserable read option stuff. Hopefully UWW is sharp in their assignments and open field tackling. Looking forward to this one.

Hey Emma, how is it going?  Really enjoyed watching the game this weekend.  WIAC is a tough conference.  What does it look like this weekend against Oshkosh?  No rest for the weary.  UWW is going to have to bring it again.  Looking forward to watching some of it before I have to head off to a wedding in the late afternoon.

I doubt it. I'm guessing everything else being equal, they would prefer Kasper make it through the game without being injured. He has gained only 10 yards rushing this season in 9 attempts. Now, they will probably do a run/pass option. But I doubt they run much of the classic read option. They've got weapons without exposing their QB like that.

All is well thankfully Wesleydad- I hope the same for you. Looks like Wesley may be getting things together.
The WIAC is ridiculous this year.  Up until UWW at UWP, there were 5 undefeated teams.
In reading Bleedpurple's post above, I actually feel a bit better about UWW vs. UWO.  I feel read option teams have given UWW trouble over the last few years.  UWO has been successful vs. UWW w the read option, whether it was a QB or RB running the show.  As a fan, I look forward to watching UWW play against a balanced offense after these last 3 games.
Although the competition drops a little after UWO, with undefeated UWL and UWSP following, there just isn't any break.

Hoping for a big crowd for the game Saturday, 15k+ last year and hopefully more this year.  I don't think there will be a bigger game in D3 until the play offs. Tailgating will start early I am sure.  Looking forward to good weather, good friends, good beer and a good win
