Wow. Sad day for UWW. Just read that The Voice (Tom Pattison) passed away yesterday.  :'( Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

He was a huge presence within the UWW athletic community, the broadcast booth, booster clubs and these boards.

Tom will be missed.

An incredibly sad day for Warhawk Nation.  His dedication and support and coverage of our program was second to none.  Such a loss. Please, keep us posted regarding the service, Bleedpurple, and Co.  We are in Minnesota this week but would like to attend if possible.

Rest in peace, Voice.  Cancer may have taken you from us in the end but it never beat you!!   :'( :'( :'(

I've been afraid something bad was happening when I hadn't seen Tom at any of the games.  Tom was one of a kind.  I've always considered myself a die hard WARHAWK but even my passion pales in comparison to Tom's.  This is truly a sad day for all of us who call ourselves WARHAWKS

RIP Voice.  We will miss you.

Very sorry to hear about Tom.

His passion for WW and D3 was infectious. At Bethel Coach Johnson loves to tell the team "Run to the fight, stay in the fight." That seems to sum up perfectly how Tom took on this horrible disease. My prayers go out to his family and the broader WW community.

Pound the Rock for Tom this Saturday boys, I'm sure he'll be giving quite the play by play from above!

So I think I'll share the story.  Several years ago when the WARHAWKS hosted Stout and the Blue Devils scored the first points of the game Stoutguy's radio associate uttered the now infamous phrase "Take that WHITEWATER."  His glee however was short lived as the WARHAWKS scored multiple touchdowns after that and easily won the game.  I've always known that it wasn't Stoutguy who said it but I've never let him forget it.

Truthfully, I'm sure every UWW opponent's announcers have been tempted to say that at one point in the broadcast over the past 10+ years. Sounds he was the only one who had the (you know what) to actually do it.  :)

Very sad to hear about Voice passing. I always enjoyed his insight into the program on his website " Voices eye on football". Always very knowledgable and a good read.

May he rest in peace.

I'll just say it.  The UWSP game concerns me more than usual.  With the issues UWW is having in the defensive backfield as well as the amount of game footage available to UWSP, I worry their offense will put a lot of pressure on UWW overall.  I'm not predicting an outcome, I'm just saying this game has a scary feel to it for me.

From a WIAC perspective, a UWSP victory would surely create an interesting scenario for Pool C.  Just for fun, what if UWSP were to win out, finishing 8-2 with UWO/UWP finishing 9-1 and the other finishing 8-2- and UWW finishing 9-1?
I assume UWW wins conference and the committees get to decide if 4 WIAC team should make the playoffs.

Just so I'm following- UWSP wins out and finishes 8-2 which leaves UWW at 9-1.  Then you've got the winner of UWP/UWO finishing 9-1, and the loser finishing 8-2 leaving a final set of WIAC standings as such:

UWW 6-1, 9-1
UWP/UWO winner 6-1, 9-1
UWP/UWO loser 5-2, 8-2
UWSP 5-2, 8-2

I think that all can work out that way if I'm reading schedules correctly.

This is messy. Whether UWW gets ranked ahead of their WIAC co-champion is irrelevant for the Warhawks because they have h2h tiebreaks over both of those teams.  UWW goes in through Pool A.

From there I think it would be tough to rank UWSP ahead of either UWO or UWP because of the h2h's.  Would the more recent win over UWW counter those older h2h's?  I wouldn't think so, but who knows what the committee might do.  John Carroll is going to be a ranked team, so advantage UWO.  UWSP's non-league action isn't helping them out at all...no RRO help there for the Pointers.  UWP may get some help from Lakeland.  Too early to tell if they can squeeze into the North top 10 if they get to 8-2.  They'd be right on the edge I think.

Anyway, I think the order of regional ranking in your scenario would be UWW, UWP/UWO winner, UWP/UWO loser, then UWSP.  UWW goes in through Pool A.  Then you've got two other WIACs before you can even get to UWSP, provided UWSP even gets ranked (I suspect they would if they got to 8-2 and a Warhawk feather in their cap).  Would they be ranked ahead of St. John's?  Doubtful.  So I think you'd have, at best, UWSP fourth in line out of the West region alone and that's probably too deep in the queue to get in.

The depth in this league is silly.

RIP Tom.....you will be deeply missed.

Tom always stopped by the Blanchard group tailgate prior to being diagnosed with cancer and even after that.   He was genuinely a nice guy who loved Warhawk nation.

So sad we lost Tom. I feel like any comment would fall so far short. His passion and love for the Warhawks, D-III athletics, and especially the student-athletes was truly inspiring. We are going to miss you, Tom!

Very obvious was the passion that Tom always had for his Warhawks.  What maybe wasn't so obvious was how he treated his opposition.  As a radio guy, the best place to travel was Whitewater and Voice was the main reason as he always was there for us.  A class act for sure.
