For the second time this season the WIAC has placed a pair of players on  D3football.com Team of the Week.  Representing the WIAC are WW defensive end Cal Durni and Platteville linebacker Chandler Crary.  Durni recorded 5 tackles including 3 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.  Crary was credited with 14 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a pass breakup.

Congrats to the Hawks on a nice win to move to 8-0.  A chance to clinch conference championship number 35 for the football program next week. Excellent bounce back game for Marcus Hudson. Four TD's for Drew Patterson.  Nice job by the defense getting five sacks, forcing three takeaways, and allowing only 10 first downs.  They traveled a young group as several starters didn't make the trip. Hopefully, the rest will help and most of them will be back in the next couple of weeks. It was good to get some playing time for some younger guys. It was nice to see Nathanial Osterloo get some snaps after losing his entire freshman year to an ACL tear last year.   Hoping for the best for Todd Campbell who went out during the game with an injury. He was playing well and had two sacks in the first half. Harry Green got some extended time and recorded a couple of tackles for loss.  Both QB's had some good moments.  Another good step.

The team is looking more like a UWW national contender of recent years- including the MASH unit.
Loved to see Coach Smith work in shorter, productive routes.

This team needs some healing time- hopefully the young kids will step up to make plays.

Congrats, 02.  But couldn't yer guys have done it a little quicker ... my delicate constitution dictated that I go to bed after 9 innings - especially when they brought out the tarp.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Tell me about it. That game took about 6 years off my life.

Although the stress was almost unbearable at times, the final version of this 2016 World Series makes for a much better story to relive and tell our grandchildren some day.

I'm trying not to be biased, but that was probably the best World Series in quite some time. A team being down 3-1, come back to force a game 7. Then have that team win Game 7 in extra innings. Talk about an instant classic oozing with drama.

cubs, As far as flying the W...I put mine up at about 1:00 am very early this morning.   8-)

I'm not being biased either. That was the greatest World Series I've ever watched.

Amazing night that opened the floodgates of memories as a lifelong Cubs fan. Going to Wrigley with my dad (also a lifelong Cubs fan), talking Cubs with him, Listening to Vince Lloyd and Lou Boudreau in my back yard, maneuvering the rabbit ears to try to pull in the Cubs games on TV at night when they were on the road, playing whiffle ball in the back yard emulating the batting stances of Kessinger, Beckert, Williams, Santo, Banks, Hundley, Spangler, Young, and Jenkins.

Made it extra special that my youngest son (also a lifelong Cubs fan) asked if I would come to Whitewater to watch it with him. Long night, great night, and another great memory.

The Chicago Cubs are World Champions. Wow. Never typed, wrote, or before last night, spoke those words before. Amazing!

BP--did the "several starters" stay home to recover from injuries, or were the coaches that confident they would not be needed?
They were injury related. We had a few guys who were banged up and close to being ready, but in their best interest they didn't travel. Better a day late in coming back than a day early. Hopefully, we will be a healthier team against River Falls.

Very sad world series. Cubs now have something to be arrogant about and they were insufferable before. Sadly the great evil was allowed to win.  :'(

Living in Milwaukee for the past 9 years (as a Chicago sports fan), Brewers fans can be very "insufferable" themselves. It works both ways. It's to the point where I don't tell people I'm a Cubs fan. It's not worth the comments, the looks and attitude I always get.

My boss even admitted to me that if he knew I was a Cubs fan, he probably wouldn't have hired me. And I think he's only 70% joking. It's also to the point where my daughter stopped wearing Cubs stuff to school, because of the comments she gets or being made fun of became too much for a 7 year old.

I went to a Brewers/Marlins game about 8 years ago. When I was leaving the game, going back to my car, about 100 people in front of me started randomly chanting "F*** the Cubbies, F*** the Cubbies.......". This was a Marlins game....the CUBS WEREN'T EVEN IN TOWN!!!!!!!  Bitter...party of one....your table is ready.

Sorry, that's my brewers fans rant for the morning. Now back to football ;D
