One more snippet on the Team Phoenix weekend.  Pretty special--saved a life.  ;D :o :o

This is awesome! Thanks for highlighting what's important AR. While it's easy to get all caught up in criticizing people due to  disappointment in performance, the truth is that D-III is filled with good people doing really good things. That applies to coaches, players, and so many others.  Thanks for going against the grain and posting something so positive. And much respect to Kasper and UW-O.  I hope Phoenix and her family enjoyed the game!

And Coach Pat Cerroni got his entire team signed up as Match candidates a few years back--which led to this match.  I heard he felt the cause was worthwhile, who would have known the impact would be so great so fast.  :D

Meanwhile, UWW is probably looking for a HIPAA approved way to check for Type 2 diabetes due to the high risk of living in Candyland.  ;D ;D
LOL!   Coudn't resist, could you..................  ;) ;D

I was able to catch a chunk of the UWRF @ UWW game Saturday. I got a hearty, hearty chuckle out of the call on the fantastic 65 yard Pick-6 return that was negated by a D-Lineman that lined up offsides... If you haven't heard the call, I highly suggest you do... it's fantastic! ;) ;D :o

Too bad there isn't a dump button for tv. I give credit to the announcer as he sincerely apologized as opposed to pretending it didn't happen.
Of course, half of Warhawk nation was probably saying the same thing at the same time.

I thought he handled it about as well as he possibly could have, kudos to him. I also like that it was done in a complimentary manner, not out of frustration or being upset...

Voice of the Titans

6 Natty's and a 9-0 record. I'd be down about a 7 point win, too.

I love the record, but I'm concerned w the Titan styled offense seeping in.

It takes a great deal of patience and perseverance to be a UW-W fan. We wait about 240 days from the Stagg Bowl until the next football season only to endure narrow victories and imperfect performances. Sucks.

Over the last 12 seasons, UWW hasn't gone two consecutive years of not making the Stagg Bowl. Yes, we are spoiled.
I think it's natural and even acceptable that fans are worried this season.
Especially for those fans that believe the future recruiting success of the program is greatly impacted not only by national success, but by what the recruits see on the field during visits.

Big Picture.

UW-W's Colin Buck named WIAC Defensive Player of the Week:

Colin Buck, Senior (Greendale, Wis./Franklin), Defensive Back of UW-Whitewater
Buck registered three tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble to help the No. 2-ranked Warhawks clinch at least a share of the WIAC championship with a 27-20 overtime victory over UW-River Falls at Perkins Stadium on Nov. 5. Late in the second quarter, Buck thwarted a drive with his first pick of the contest as the Falcons crossed into UW-Whitewater territory. In the third, he forced a fumble on a punt return deep in UW-River Falls territory that led to a Warhawk touchdown and brought the team to within three points. Early in the fourth quarter, Buck intercepted Sawyer Moon at the UW-Whitewater 11-yard line to take away another scoring chance for the Falcons.

Fans can choose to worry if they want. Just because something might be natural and acceptable doesn't make it a wise choice, in my opinion.  My biggest reminder to the worriers is simply to not forget to enjoy the journey and not allow your worry to rob you of enjoying each day and each victory.  The point of my last post was simply that we wait a long time for football season and we only have so many days on this earth. It would be a shame to spend so much time focused on the negative or allowing worry to fester so much that the season is over and you forgot to enjoy it.

Words of wisdom for sure.
Maybe I'd worry less if you pulled out a WIWA sort of slogan again. I need something to hold on to given this slippery slope we are on.

Slippery slope? Others may hope so, but it's not true. This program is not as fragile as you think. It could more than survive a second straight season without a Stagg Bowl appearance. But I don't think you will see it.
We'll be all right. I'm pretty confident in saying with 19 seniors, most of whom have won 2 national championships, this team knows how to win more than any team in the country. For all the angst, we are still undefeated in the strongest conference in the country. Throw in the fact that we lead the country in takeaways and turnover margin and things become brighter. We have line play on both sides of the ball that non-WIAC teams are just not accustomed to. We've got as good a shot to win the championship as anyone. Win, lose, or draw, you won't see another performance this year like the one Saturday. We are better than we have played. I believe it will come together at the right time. I would expect us to be much healthier when round two comes along. Relax and enjoy the ride.  ;)
