Over the last 12 seasons, UWW hasn't gone two consecutive years of not making the Stagg Bowl. Yes, we are spoiled.
I think it's natural and even acceptable that fans are worried this season.
Especially for those fans that believe the future recruiting success of the program is greatly impacted not only by national success, but by what the recruits see on the field during visits.

Big Picture.
Fans can choose to worry if they want. Just because something might be natural and acceptable doesn't make it a wise choice, in my opinion.  My biggest reminder to the worriers is simply to not forget to enjoy the journey and not allow your worry to rob you of enjoying each day and each victory.  The point of my last post was simply that we wait a long time for football season and we only have so many days on this earth. It would be a shame to spend so much time focused on the negative or allowing worry to fester so much that the season is over and you forgot to enjoy it.

Words of wisdom for sure.
Maybe I'd worry less if you pulled out a WIWA sort of slogan again. I need something to hold on to given this slippery slope we are on.
Slippery slope? Others may hope so, but it's not true. This program is not as fragile as you think. It could more than survive a second straight season without a Stagg Bowl appearance. But I don't think you will see it.
We'll be all right. I'm pretty confident in saying with 19 seniors, most of whom have won 2 national championships, this team knows how to win more than any team in the country. For all the angst, we are still undefeated in the strongest conference in the country. Throw in the fact that we lead the country in takeaways and turnover margin and things become brighter. We have line play on both sides of the ball that non-WIAC teams are just not accustomed to. We've got as good a shot to win the championship as anyone. Win, lose, or draw, you won't see another performance this year like the one Saturday. We are better than we have played. I believe it will come together at the right time. I would expect us to be much healthier when round two comes along. Relax and enjoy the ride.  ;)

What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

You'll have to be disappointed in 30 states.  Imagine if you counted the number of counties that voted the way you didn't want.

If football teams want to win more games, play better.
If political parties want to win more elections, put up better candidates.

I truly hope President-elect Trump makes America great again. But, without a doubt, the electorate collectively took a huge gamble electing someone without experience in this realm. But the other option?  The other option is why what happened, happened. Wisconsinites can't be faulted for having to choose between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Mr. Trump didn't even win the primary in Wisconsin.  I'm not a registered member of either party. But Mrs. Clinton? No way, no how.

So how about that mock bracket.
That really gets the playoff blood flowing.
If this were the actual bracket, I think I'd be glad that UWW/Mt/UWO/Linfield are on the opposite side of UMHB. I feel UMHB has demonstrated the most dominant regular season performance. Maybe UWP can get on a run and take them out.
If the Dub could get to the Stagg, it would have to be one of the most impressive seasons any team has had.

If UWW wins out that would have to be one of the most impressive seasons ever... Here is hoping that it doesn't happen  :)

It would be fun for sure. I think the brackets would be a bit more balanced if they switched UW-O and UW-P. But I have to say I like the idea of a possible UW-O/Mount match-up.

UMHB has had a good year, for sure. But it would be fine to be on their side of the bracket.  Just like any other year. Line 'em up, knock 'em down. If someone is good enough and they get us, then they get us. But whether UMHB or anyone else, they will have to strap it up and bring it for 60 (or more).  UW-W will be unafraid and they will be swinging. Hard.

Taxes, death and UMHB having a dominant regular season performance. Destroying every team on their season schedule is common place (Hardin-Simmons, the lone exception). That shouldn't be a surprise or come as unexpected. It's playoff time when the chickens come home to roost for the Cru.

Not altogether different from 2013, the year of WIWA.  Beating Llnfield in the quarters, at Mary Hardin-Baylor in the semi's, and Mount in the Stagg. After a season with lots of doubters (fueled quite a bit by 2012 as well as some uneven performances), beating those three teams wasn't a bad way to polish the season off.

emma17

For clarification on my UMHB statement, I wasn't suggesting I don't want UWW to face them. I'm saying I believe, of all the teams this year, UMHB has earned the easier path to the Stagg.

If Yaeggi is healthy and able to play today, I'm going to say La Crosse wins and eliminates Platteville from the Pool C discussion...
