I saw that Lakeland has tried exactly ZERO field goal attempts this season. Fairly unique.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Congrats to Platteville sophomore running back Wyatt Thompson for making this week's D3football.com team of the week....and for setting a program record.

RB Wyatt Thompson
So., UW-Platteville

Thompson set a UW-Platteville record for rushing yards in the Pioneers' victory over UW-La Crosse, running for 316 yards on 30 carries. He also scored four touchdowns. Thompson averaged 10.5 yards a carry and his longest run was 58 yards.

Just thinking about UWW's game on Saturday and how refreshing it would be for UWW to march down the field, on their opening drive, and put 7 on the board.

Let's not make this game harder than it needs to be. Put Lakeland away early, get the backups in and avoid any (further) injuries for once. The last think I want to see is a repeat of UWRF or UWS games.

That's all I ask this first round game.  ;)

Unfortunately, this team's modus operandi is to make things as hard as possible and come from behind, much to the chagrin of many fans. bp is probably right, UWW will trail at the half and then finally hook the Muskies in the fourth quarter. Anything else would be totally out of character.

Me too. Dear Santa, please have the UWW offense huddle before 50% of the plays, mix the run and play action, the short and vertical and create and own third and short.
Thanks.

I don't know, I could think of worse. Half the teams Saturday are going to lose.  That wouldn't be so good. We are now in survive and advance mode. 1-0 this week is all we need to do. My wish list is win, advance, and no injuries!

Very true, but to avoid further injuries I think it would be best if they can get the starters off the field as soon as possible. Hence a big early lead on my wish list  ;D

Absolutely! Don't get me wrong, that would be ideal for sure! And for those inclined to worry, a Saturday afternoon without anxiety would be a nice change of pace! Maybe a week or two without having to press our fourth quarter dominance button would be a good thing. I still want to see it another time or two this year, though. To me, it's fun to watch a team collectively say, "All right, enough of this nonsense. Time to put you away."  On the other hand, it's probably fun to watch a team put together a four quarter performance in which there is no nonsense. Maybe that will start this week!

Dear Santa

If you have an extra order the above, I would like that as well and if it is not too much trouble I would also like a 12 pack of Spotted Cow!

If I may, I recommend New Glarus's new Spotted Cow they came out with: Spotted Cow Grand Cru. It comes in a 4 pack (part of their Thumbprint series). Same smoothness going down, but it has a slight boldness to it. It has a higher alcohol content than the original: 8.5% compared to 5.1%.

Good stuff!

I won't be having anything with Cru in the name until after the play offs
