Decided I'm going to spam every conference board with my preseason (non-returning-starter-adjusted) projections.

Team   Rating   Overall   Conference
UWO   0.9982   6.5-1.5   6.0-1.0
UWP   0.9963   8.6-1.4   5.6-1.4
UWW   0.9947   8.0-2.0   5.3-1.7
UWSP   0.9463   6.1-3.9   3.4-3.6
UWL   0.9156   5.6-4.4   2.7-4.3
UWRF   0.8948   3.7-5.3   2.4-4.6
UWSt   0.8113   2.4-6.6   1.7-5.3
UWEC   0.6375   2.0-8.0   0.8-6.2

D3Football.com only has 1 non-con game listed for UWO so far (@ JCU), so their overall schedule looks a little light. I suspect that UWW will tighten up with UWP & UWO thanks to UWO losing a lot of production on D & UWP losing a lot of production on O. UWSP & UWL are at practically the exact same projections as last season. Been a while since anyone outside of UWW, UWO, or UWP has had a sniff of a conference title, maybe this is the year?

I have a feeling that La Crosse could find their way back into the top 3 in the conference next year.

Me too. With Tarek Yaeggi healthy last season, UW-L was undefeated against the spread (according to my predictions), and their only loss was to UWW in that span. Knowing that QB is easily the most important position on the field, I would be surprised if they didn't improve if Tarek stays healthy.

I hope the sunny predictions about UWL are correct, and I am confident that we are on the right path. Still, the issue this year is likely to be an offensive line which lost quite a bit of experience. We shall see.

What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Congratulations to Todd.
He seems to be a good fit for UWW and I hope he can bring the athletic programs to even greater heights.

D3football.com's preseason Top 25 poll:  http://www.d3football.com/top25/2017/preseason

WARHAWKS ranked 3rd behind Mary Hardin-Baylor and Mount Union.  Titans ranked fourth,  Pioneers 16th and Eagles receiving votes.

This seems about right to me though I don't put a lot of stock in preseason polls.

Glad to see the Top 25 out. I don't recall if this preseason list is based on the thorough study the D3 folks do for Kickoff, anybody know?

In the top 15, there are five conferences w 2 or more teams.

I'm guessing there is nothing distributed to voters by D3 football.com. However, some voters probably do some research as to expected returning starters, etc.

We in fact distribute a spreadsheet with a significant information about returning starters and the like every year. We know the voters don't all have the resources available to do that kind of research for themselves.

I'm curious, and I'm sorry if you've answered this elsewhere, but I can't recall. What's your definition for starter? Is there a minimum number of starts you have to make?

Like I said, I'm sure d3football distributes a spreadsheet or something so the voters can have access to pertinent information before putting together their ballots.  :(
