I seem to remember Eric had a stint as an interim head coach a few years ago.  Maybe with the Broncos.

Indeed he did. From the linked article:
QuoteThe 2017 season was Studesville's 21st as an NFL assistant. He has mostly been a running backs coach in the league, save a four-game stint as the Broncos' interim coach in 2010 and this past season, when he served as Denver's assistant head coach along with his running backs duties.

palum

Packers new GM Brian Gutekenust (saying Thompson was easier) has WIAC ties he played for and was an assistant at LaX in the 1990s.

Although I wish him well on a personal level, as a Bears' and UWW fan, I'm thinking he will be on the losing end of both former dynasties.

Maybe this is already known on here, I didn't look back on any other WIAC pages.  Whitewater is playing at Dubuque 09/01 at 1pm

That should be worth some chatter  ;)
Coach Finstock - "There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that and everything else is cream cheese."

Yikes, UWW attendance dropped to 4,400 per game in 2017, the lowest number since 2007 of 4,300. Attendance jumped up to 5,300 in 2008 after the championship and climbed from there for a while.
Strangely, the highest per game average came in 2012 at 7,500. Maybe the three consecutive national championships led to the high attendance.

As for Dubuque, I love the matchup. Although it won't be Z v LL, there will certainly be another level of emotion.

Of course UWW didn't have UWO at home in 2017, which has been a big draw. Plus they had a couple bad-weather days out of their 4 total home games.

First year since 2004 where I didn't attend at least one game. Lack of home games (compared to previous seasons) + Saturday events to drive my daughter to = no show for 02 in '17.

Starting the season with four games on the road and losing three of them didn't help much.  By the time we'd gotten home some enthusiasm for the season had waned in the student population.  Then to top it off the weather for all four home games was absolute crap.  I'm not sure I'd go in those conditions if my seat wasn't in the press box.  It just wasn't a good year all around.

Very true. I would be lying if I said the first few games of the year didn't turn me off to making a 2 hour round trip to games this season. Between that, and the reasons I stated above, is why I shied away. We've grown accustomed to 8-9 home games a year, compared to just 4 this year. In fact, one of those home games was on a Friday, so out-of-towners (like myself) only had 3 games to plausibly attend.

Next season I'll stop making excuses and get my arse out to the Perk again.

Are these 2 teams UWW opponents?
If so, I'm sort of happy to see them play a D2 school.

Yeah I'd love to see how a good d3 would match up again d2, I think UWWS size on the line of scrimmage makes them a better match up for a d2 than most d3 programs. LOS size seems to be one of the biggest differences as you move up divisions in my opinion.

Dubuque believes it is playing UWW on Sept. 1, 2018.

Thanks Pat. I saw a tweet about it and for some reason Augustana stuck in my head. Good looking out

Are you saying you confused D2 Augustana with Dubuque or are you saying you mixed up the dates?
