This thread has the distinct feeling of Deja Vu.  It's like I've seen it before...  Yes!  That's it.  I have seen it before.

I was at the Stout/WW game and saw one very good team that didn't need to work quite so hard  trying to score more points after the outcome was no longer in doubt.  But that is probably just me being very old school.

Seriously? I think that is not old school, it's ancient school thinking. As in pre-two point conversion school. Once UW-W took a 30 point lead with 9 1/2 minutes left in the game, we used our backup QB's and only threw one pass the rest of the game. Before that, our lead was 24, which in the modern, 2 point era, is only three scores. Crazy things happen in football games. I'm sorry but I don't want our guys taking their foot off the gas with a three score lead with most of the fourth quarter remaining.

BW.  You just have to let that "Take that, Whitewater" quote go but we have had a good time with it, haven't we :'(    And bleedpurple, as usual, you are right and I am wrong.  I think I will just let that one go.

I couldn't help myself.  How can I possibly forget it?  You don't come around often enough for me to wear it out.   ;D

Miss our banter, BW.  You are a class act.  Always have been.  OzJohnnie, this is perfect.  It has context, depth, and value.  I think it is very worthy of this WIAC board.  You should stick around.

Agreed! Oz, quality post.  Meets the high bar criteria WIAC posters put out there on a daily basis. lol

Besides, anyone who is anti-Tommie is all right by me!

Greetings WIAC folks!
So I am runing the mean streets of Eastern Wisconsin this week.  Spent yesterday & today up in Appleton, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, and other burbs around there.  Nice folks & had a great dinner & call on the folks at the Vince Lombardi restaurant in Appleton.  Now I am in Milwaukee for the next few days, but do get to journey out to Brookfield & Delafield tomorrow.

I am familiarizing myself with all things Wiscy as I have this sneaking suspicion there is a good chance the ole UWW/UMU car crash could very well be on the horizon.   ;)

Anti-Tommie is like anti-brussel sprouts.  A dime a dozen.

In a perfect world we would have posters from every school on here and have great discussions. I am from Eau Claire and if you can not tell my rooting interest are for the west side of the state. I follow UWEC, UW-Stout and UWRF close. I am hoping that sometime in the next 5 years that the west side of the state can catch up with the east side. Don't be scared to post on here because their is a whitewater bias at times, as there should be. It would be great to have in depth discussions about games other than warhawk games, and that is what I am trying to bring. I have been around the league for 20 years and love following these kids through recruitment all the way to watching them Saturday's. We should be recruiting more poster rather than scaring them away!

Great post, Brad.  Another subject I would like to here a discussion about would be the WW/Stout football broadcast.  I understand it is Pete Knutson for the Stout home games.  Did not hear the broadcast but have listened to Pete do Menomonie HS, EC Express baseball and Stout football and basketball.  He is a home fan for sure but have always thought he was a first rate play be play guy.

I don't see a victim mentality at all by Brad. I see a call for more dialogue on other WIAC teams. Seems reasonable to me. But what do I know. I'm an outsider. My two cents!

I do. He wrote "we should be recruiting more posters rather than scaring them away". Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions and if so I apologize, but it seems to me Brad is suggesting some on this board aren't treating newcomers/outsiders with the tender loving care they need in order to feel welcomed on a discussion board.

All are welcome. If you post an opinion, you should be prepared to support it. Can we all just accept that without tears?

I am not playing a victim at all. I am just wanting to have more people on here who want to talk football and talk about this league. I am going to keep posting on here because I find it really fun to learn more about the teams I do not follow and trying to figure out this wild league. Here in Eau Claire, I get a bunch of injury updates and things from the team that way. I would think that someone from Point or UWL with all their media coverage could come on here and give some positive input. Sorry you took it that way emma!

That's not true at all. Yall welcomed me in 2 weeks ago with open arms and have been nothing but nice to me since joining. I just want more people that's my only point emma. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi stoutguy- I'm not sure if your question is specific to Brad- I'll offer my experience. I watched and listened to the entire video stream of UWW and UWS. I think the crew did an excellent job overall, especially as they don't make many of the mistakes common to college kids that aren't really football knowledgeable.
That is why I was a bit surprised they took the approach they did with their comments about the personal fouls and UWW running the ball from their own 5 at the end of game. They absolutely called out UWW's character. An experienced crew like that has probably seen a number of games where personal fouls got out of control for some reason. They should weigh that single game against the body of work they have likely experienced with UWW in previous games. As Bleed will attest, I can be a harsh critic of UWW at times, and I sure as heck would call them out if the player's actions were embarrassing the university. That has not been the case.
40 points is nowhere near the "running up the score" threshold.
