In a perfect world we would have posters from every school on here and have great discussions. I am from Eau Claire and if you can not tell my rooting interest are for the west side of the state. I follow UWEC, UW-Stout and UWRF close. I am hoping that sometime in the next 5 years that the west side of the state can catch up with the east side. Don't be scared to post on here because their is a whitewater bias at times, as there should be. It would be great to have in depth discussions about games other than warhawk games, and that is what I am trying to bring. I have been around the league for 20 years and love following these kids through recruitment all the way to watching them Saturday's. We should be recruiting more poster rather than scaring them away!

Keep it coming Brad!

Good point in that there are fewer posters from the western area of Wiscy. Fred Falcon reps UWRF pretty well, and I can relate as I played there my freshman year in 87 under Coach Farley. I banged heads with a certain guard there with the last name of Dinkel that also joined the Warhawk family later on with great success. Still friends with a couple guys from then like Glen Woychik. Walking tank, he was. Guys like Corning and Olsen were big timers. I was just a redshirt watching the amazing wishbone show.

Great to see a Stout guy in here, and you with some EC knowledge.

Who are we missing? Are there any real Platteville posters on here? I mean, they are a pretty decent program, you'd think somebody from there would chime in just what the heck is happening with the Pioneers......

Don't see much from SP guys either.

And where is UW-L guys from such a great program for decades?

Thanks  for the input on Stout/WW broadcast Emma17.    Still not sure if it was Pete and don't know who his color guy was as his regular guy was not available.  I know that because he asked me to do color with him and I declined.  I plan to ask Pete about it tomorrow at Touchdown club and I will report back what they say.  Regarding the 40 point game, I think I was way too quick to have an opinion about running up the score.  I often am accused (fairly) of talking before I think.  I am also planning on asking head coach Birmingham about his reaction to these comments and opinions.  He is a great guy, straight shooter, and will tell me exactly what he thinks.

Stoutguy I'm sorry I don't know who exactly was calling character in question. I do look forward to hearing what he as to say. I'm not suggesting the penalties shouldn't have been called, only that one game shouldn't define a program.

Thanks for acknowledging jumping the gun on UWW running up the score on the last play. I remember when it happened I considered they should just take a knee, but they were backed up to their goal line and a long ways away from adding points.

Veracity

The announcer calling out UWW's character seems more like a sour grapes than anything else.  I don't think anyone on the UWW staff or team cares about what the guy in the booth says or how he says it.  Besides, it's probably nothing worse than we've heard from our own gameday announcers.
Against Dubuque (38-6), Oles and Demark had five total pass attempts. MGS (73-0), Oles had five. Eau Claire (45-0), one total. RF (44-7), three total. Stout (40-10), one.  Looks to me that the UWW staff are doing a great job of not letting things get out of hand.
If the Stout announcer wants to talk classless, he really should look into his own stands and find that women (using the term very loosely) who sounded like a drunk sailor on leave. You could head that wretched woman all the way in the parking lot.

That would be great. And I completely believe the qualities you ascribe to Coach Birmingham. I had the opportunity to give him a tour of our facilities when he was the NCAA Rep for one of our playoff games a couple of years ago. It was really a privilege to meet him. He's an impressive guy and seems like a good man.

Living on reputation.  Like Johnny Depp.  But it's been quite a few shows since Pirates was any good.

SOS

It seems to be the only spot that the committee is adhering to SOS for the ranking. But such is life. Two rounds to go and we'll see how it finishes.  I'll be happy if they stay true to SOS.

What would you propose they go by, within the criteria, that might put SJU ahead of UWW at this point?

They could use last years playoffs results to put SJU ahead. That's how the East region separated out all of their undefeated teams. SJUs round 1 loss vs UWW no post season.

SJU's two victories over RRO's are against RRO's collectively ranked higher than UWW's victories over RRO's. Their victories over common opponents are basically a wash, but if you wanted to split hairs, SJU's cummulative margin of victory is greater.

My guess is the committee is made up of "defense is critical to winning championships" believers.

retagent

I don't know if you're pulling my leg or not, but do you think the committee has done a deep dive into Offensive and Defensive stats, who those stats were garnered against, and did a comparison between a defense allowing more/less yards that their opponents average offense. Or offensive stats against a specific team's average defense. I've got a Time Share in Hades to sell you.
