I've always called the flip flops thongs too bleed
Oh good!  Thank you! I'm so glad there are two definitions! i was beginning to wonder what people must have thought all these years when I said things like "I forgot my thongs." Or, "I have to buy some new thongs."  ;)

Or excuse me ma'am, do you have XL thongs?
Or: why don't you take your thongs off and relax?
Or: would you mind wiping your thongs off before coming in?
Or....

Or, I hate thongs because my big toe always gets stuck.

Veracity

You guys could always go with "banana hammock" just to take the confusion out of it.   ::)

With UWRF QB getting ejected last week in the second half for 2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties -- does he need to sit first half of next game?

It depends on when the ejection occured.  If it's in the first half the player is ejected for the reaminder of the game.  If it's in the second half the player is ejected for the remainder of the game and the first half of the next one.  That's the NCAA rule.  It's possible a conference could have it's own rule but I don't know whether the WIAC does or doesn't.

It's a good rule. But man does it have a different affect when it applies to your starting QB missing two halves of football!

I'm curious what he actually did to get two of them.

Or
Excuse me, do those thongs come in non-skid?

Congratulations to the UW-Whitewater Warhawks for your undefeated season and WIAC leading 36th conference championship. It is the first time since 2010 a WIAC team has won all of it's conference games by at least 20 points.

La Crosse wrapped up second place with a 5-2 conference mark. It is their best finish since 2006. The lofty position seems to have gotten to the Eagles a little bit. According to an article in the La Crosse Tribune, Coach Mike Schmidt was quoted as saying:

"We're playing as well as anybody, again, right now," Eagles coach Mike Schmidt said. "I don't think anybody's saying, 'We want to play La Crosse.'

Two thoughts:
I doubt very much they are playing as well as anyone. They have a three game winning streak against the three teams that finished in a tie for last in the WIAC. Of course that in itself isn't proof that they aren't playing as well as anyone. But it isn't great evidence to back up that claim, either.

Secondly, he is right about one thing.  No one is saying "We want to play La Crosse." Mostly because no one is thinking about La Crosse.

Really Bleed? On a day to celebrate a terrific regular season for UWW and the upcoming playoffs you find it necessary to ridicule UWL?
You sound like a woman scorned.

Congratulations to UWW.

I think he mean as well as anyone in the WIAC, which is certainly true.

Right on, bleed. I highlighted the "again" part because UWL hasn't played as well as anybody since the last millennium. Any suggestion that they are playing as well as anybody now is simply coach's hyperbole.

C'mon Emma. I'm disappointed in you. I wasn't ridiculing UW-L. And surely I have ridiculed you enough for you to know the difference.

I was simply responding to Coach Schmidt's own words. Part of his job is to sell his program. I get that. And he is great at it. But when he says something publicly that doesn't appear to be anchored in reality, I think it's OK to push back.

There's doing it.
There's talking about doing it.
And there's trying to make people think you are doing it when you are not.

I'm not saying his job is easy. It's a little bit like the marketing director at RC Cola.  He or she is going to claim over and over that RC Cola tastes as good as Coca-Cola.  Then there's that darned taste test. And the reality is it just doesn't.
