#BedtimeForWhitewater !!!  Ha!

Ok, I'm officially a Eureka fan this game.  I have no idea what swing the axe means but I can rally behind the bedtime call.  I'm calling overs on rushing and TD's as UWW will be looking well past this game.

They bring a literal axe to the game. I was a little frightened last year that they were going to hack Caruso to bits if we ran the score up on them.

You brought an axe to the stadium? That's cute. Hold my beer while I introduce Mr. Cannon. Ka-Boom baby. I hope they stocked up on gunpowder. At least for pre-game and then the after-game celebrations, dumb NCAA rules.

Ever since that school that started with a letter W complained about it, we can't shoot it anymore in playoffs. They must have went deaf from it shooting so often.

Two worst I experienced were @UWEC homecoming in 2003 when the drunk students were hanging over the fence behind our bench. And @Wartburg in the playoffs in 2003, students in the dorm behind the visiting side were bad, but no one was worse than the stuff Willis and a few Wart coaches were saying to us on the field  :o ::)

Duff is right though, every fan base has them.

Thankfully I've never witnessed witnessed at a d3 game what I saw at arrowhead a few years back, when a woman got punched in the face by Raiders Black Hole fans. That took the cake. And confirmed I'd never take my kids to an NFL game until they were much older!

There are some storied places to play in D3 football, but playing at Carson Park in Eau Claire for homecoming is amazing. It started with the students shaking the bus and throwing beer at us as we exited to go into the stadium. I imagined this is how those D1 players at bowl week feel when they get to go to Disneyland before their bowl game!

I remember drunk NCC fans literally swearing in my face when I attended the UWW/NCC game in 2010.

I had a similar experience with UWW fans at The Perk in 2005.  I'm willing to bet none of them were contributors here, but there are a-holes everywhere (might even be one or two from SJU!).  I did have a fun time swilling beer from the trunk of Janesville Flash's Cadillac, though, so that made up for it.  ;D
I actually thought Whitewater fans were very nice in 16! Much nicer than the Oshkosh ones were the next week >:(

I have stories about them too. I remember after UWW beat UWO, in Oshkosh during '15 playoffs, I was walking out of the stadium as the UWW team buses were driving up. An elderly UWO fan (probably in his 60's - no joke) set his things down, did an about-face and flipped off (double-birdy style) the UWW buses.

#classy

This story of yours is obviously a bald-faced lie.  Everyone knows UWO fans can not afford "things".

He didn't set down any candy. It's not Candyland, for sure.

You do have to admire the fight! I can imagine where he's coming from. Being the only fan on the boards representing a small fan base. I'd imagine there is a level of pride now that his Red Devils get to go toe to toe with one of the big boys, and he needs to support them to the bitter end.
Keep on doing your thing ecreddevils! +K for you!
On an unrelated note, has anyone else here ever been to Eureka? It's actually quite a nice little town! My sales meetings take me to some really random places lol!

I have the good fortune of having a great client in Eureka, a terrific all-American town.
Speaking of which, Ben Zobrist of the Cubs and Andy Studebaker (Wheaton and NFL)
attended high school there.
EurekaMan may be on to something here.
I'll take the over in yards.

I was born and raised in Peoria (c. 20 miles west of Eureka) and went to school in Bloomington (c. 30 miles SE of Eureka).  Never spent any time there, but been through it dozens of times.  Some day I need to get off U.S. 24 and actually explore the town!  It does seem nice.  (I hated Reagan back in the day, so that association always turned me off; and Bonzo was a better actor than Ronnie, so there's that! ;D)

Hated Ronald Reagan? What? Maybe you didn't like his politics. He was a terrific man.
May your bed be filled with crumbs and hungry creepy crawly things for a full week of punishment.

Surprised you didn't cite a precedent close to home. Wisconsin plays Minnesota every year for Paul Bunyan's Axe. And it's a big freakin' axe.

You guys and your cannon. Let it go!!! I remember one game where I was sitting on the visitor's side, and every time it went off (and, yes, it went off a lot in that game) the lady next to me jumped out of her seat. I thought I might have to do CPR.

HoCo at EC has changed dramatically.  They no longer allow U-Haul trailers in the parking lot -- students would pack up couches / chairs / kegs and set up shop in the parking lot. It's much tamer these days and patrolled.  Prolly doesn't help the product on the field hasn't been very good of late -- but some signs of improvement this season.

Just the stats

WIAC trivial pursuit: this is the first season since 2008 that every team had at least two league wins.

For the record I'm all for the banter and think the exchange between EurekaMan and Jamto was hilarious. I'm only saying he's not the type of poster saying UWW hasn't seen a team like Eureka.

My group's fans behaving badly experiences occurred at NCC and Wheaton. Although I thought the snowballs at NCC were funny.

My story is getting hit in the head with potatoes at, you guessed it, the Spud Bowl. UW-SP students were throwing potatoes right at us before we got on to the field. Really?? Screw you Pointers! Screw you all!!!!!!!! Not cool man. I shall always root against Point. A completely classless school.

I had to share...

Hmmm,  seems like a reoccurring problem with them.  First time going to UWSP got told to put on my helmet before we went out.  I asked why,  was told:  you'll see!!!  sure enough potatoes from the stands being launched at us.  It seems like Whitewater is always playing in the spud bowl.  Travis was this the same game in 1991?

Seems like fans from other sites are more offended than WIAC fans regarding Eureka's confidence against UWW.

I guess we're used to it considering we've dealt with these posters almost every year since 2005. Fans of opponents, during the first few rounds of the playoffs mostly, often come on here saying things like "Yes, you're good, but UWW hasn't seen (insert offense/defense or a position player here) before!". So far things haven't worked out that well for those teams, with the exception of two OAC teams ;).

I remember Wabash fans coming here saying things like that a couple of different years. I think Albion had a very good running back one year and UWW shut him down. Franklin, for a couple of years, had awesome QBs only to fall (although Franklin fans were always respectful and didn't come here looking for trouble). St. Thomas fans were guilty of it in 2011 (with their star WR) who UWW shut out that night. I remember drunk NCC fans literally swearing in my face when I attended the UWW/NCC game in 2010. I would probably get banned from these boards for life if I reiterated on here what was said to me and my dad that Saturday. Those are just a few off the top of my head that stick out. I'm sure there's probably been more over the years that emma, Badgerwarhawk, bobo or bleed remember.

To sum it up....we've heard it all before and aren't bothered much by it  ;) ;D

bw must be on vacation, so I will handle this one...

...Two words 02...KA - BOOM!!
I won't mention them by name since they are very sensitive about that subject. One clue - they're a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the "Kicked to the Curb" Hall of Fame. Any guesses?

Kris,
That was in 1993 that I was referring to. I was shocked that the cops standing right there did nothing, acted like it was all good, nuthin to see here, move along, move along.
Point had some enormous roid-warrior D-End that had a knack for punching me under the facemask when I pulled to block him. Nice bloody nose and mouth that game. Coach Shlender found that rather entertaining when I'd come to the sidelines afterward.
Cheap shottin, roid eatin, tater tossing lowlifes....

Getting back to the issue at hand. I read an article in this morning's Janesville paper that sang the praises of Reasnover. It was quite positive. However, and maybe as a non WIAC boot licker, I can post this.

I'm a reasonably healthy 68 year old. I could probably tear up a Pop Warner league. Put me in against high schoolers, and I'm dead in the water. Maybe even against middle school also. The quality of competition is a great factor. I see that Eureka was beaten (by 1) by Lakeland. Platteville crushed Lakeland 42 - 12. I'm not one for these chain comparisons, but, in this case, there is such a disparity in talent and competition, that it is pretty obvious what lies ahead for Eureka. Reasnover may be a RB who could be the featured back for UWW, but he doesn't have the players around him to do what he has been doing this year on Saturday.
