anyone know where our axe swinging-bedtime enforcer friend from Eureka went? I had high hopes for an entertaining WIAC board ahead of the first round game tomorrow!

Being the good sport he is, I have no doubt he will show up soon and congratulate UW-W on a well-played victory. And I'm sure he will be able to muster up the character to do it without an FCS reference.

Congrats to UW-W on a dominating victory today.  When you lead 50-0 at halftime and throw down 500 yards rushing on the day, there's not much reason to split hairs on anything else.  As 02 said, on to St. Norbert!

Wouldn't hold your breath on that

Saturday's box score will read: 65 yards on 21 carries, 1 TD (which will come late in the 4th).

50 yards on 21 carries, 0 TD and 2 fumbles lost. I wasn't that far off.  :-\

I Either over estimated Reasnover or underestimated our D.

Onto St. Norbs

Same. I feel pretty good about the fact I provided and now me and ec can both watch from our comfortable couches next week

Great day at the Perk.
No doubt Reasnover is a talent- it would be interesting to see him run behind a WIAC O line. Big mistake on his part doing the finger wag after his 23 yard run- life got really hard for him immediately after and for the remainder of time he was able to play.

UWW's touchdown drive after the fake punt series is one of my favorite all-time drives. 6 or 7 consecutive identical plays-  Ponick up the 1 hole. Not a pass, not a fake, just snap the ball and run it right at the d ending w a TD.
500 yards rushing the ball.
Speaking of that, I'm not commenting on how other teams handle being up big, I respect the approach from Coach Bullis. Cole only threw 12 passes, 15 passes the whole game from UWW. UWW just ran the ball.

Warhawks came out strong and the #fingerwave really seemed to backfire on Reasnover & the Red Devils. Way too many penalties. Can't make those kind of mistakes against better competition. On to round 2 & St Norbert!

Stagg Again!!

Good luck to the Royals, Hazz.  Hope to see them in Whitewater a couple weeks from Saturday!

And here I thought you would be looking forward to seeing the Cardinals in Whitewater for Round 3 a couple of weeks from Saturday!  :-)

Bleed is far too discerning a fan for that  :D ;)

Here's to hopefully seeing NCC in Rd 2  :)

I fully expect to see the Royals in Round 2.  I visited the frozen tundra in Arden Hills back in 2013... here's to hoping the real-feel temperature will be 80-90 degrees warmer in Naperville this time around!!!

... as I was saying, early weather forecast for Naperville next Saturday calls for 46 degrees and rain.  That is certainly better than what we all saw in 2013 on the frozen tundra!

On a separate front, I forecast another 50+ point day at Perkins next Saturday.  Sorry SNC, but you've had a great year and appointed yourself well with a nice first round win.

My over/under of 40 yds rushing for the fingerwaver wasn't too bad 😎

As expected, Warhawk D more than up to the task.

Interesting box score for the St Norbert game yesterday.

Defenses scored 3 TD's, offenses 2 TD's and FG - one TD on a 14 yard drive after a fumble, the FG on a 22 yard drive after a fumble. One lengthy drive to paydirt the entire game.

Each team completed a total of 3 passes, total of 66 yards passing in the game.  St N only threw 5 passes the whole game. Oh, but there were 4 interceptions.

Throwback to ... oh, what, the 1930's, maybe?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Yeah, that won't get them too far next weekend.

"Leatherheads" showing in the UWW film room this week?

SNC hasn't beaten a UW school since 1983 (Platteville, 25-7) and hasn't beaten a UW school on the road since 1980 (Stout). And, to me, there's a simple reason, at least in recent years: size up front.

When SNC faces a UW school, or someone such as St. Thomas or John Carroll (who've played in the not-too distant past), SNC always is undersized, comparatively, across the front lines. Makes it difficult for the SNC to get anything going - and this team especially doesn't score a lot - and makes it hard to stop the other team when the QB has all day.

SNC's defense is among the better units it has had. And I think it was 2013 when SNC had a closer result (at least on the scoreboard) in the playoffs vs UWW than Mount Union or Franklin did. Of course, UWW should win this game, likely starting with dominating the line play, but that's why they play the game...

Those syllogisms are prone to fallacy. I mean, yeah, WW will probably win, but I don't think its going to be an absolute rout by any means. SNC is a different team now than they were week 2.

I want to mention Drew Barth, the Eureka QB. I was really impressed with him and certainly wasn't expecting him to be so good. I realize many of his passes were short, but he was extremely accurate as well as elusive. He was a gamer throughout. Nice game Drew.

Wow, thanks for sharing. I admit I'm a bit disappointed reading those stats as I envisioned a SNC offense that took it to Trine and would bring the same against UWW. Perhaps SNC's running attack will be enough if the rain comes. Eureka came in as a running team but it was their passing game that allowed them to have any success at all.
UWW showed they are more than capable of playing pure pound the rock offense, there may not be many opportunities for SNC to intercept passes.
