Good point. But that's not the defense though right? Impressive either way.

Congrats to the Warhawks! I knew BU's chances were slim, but coughing up the football just sealed our fate. Hopefully, you all can throttle the Crusaders in like manner next week in Belton.

Didn’t realize - for the 3rd week in a row - UWW had a pair of 100 yard rushers. The latest coming against a supposed very good defense. Very impressive.

Keep pounding that rock onto MHB

When you run the ball 50 times, you are gonna get a couple hundred yard rushers. Bethel’s defense is top 10, was today too. 59 plays for 228 yds for UWW. When you only need to go 60 yds for 23 pts that’s not on the defense. 4 INTS and a high school kicking game tell the story of this one.

Great win for the Warhawks but I wouldn’t get too comfortable with your offensive production as it will need to be dramatically better next Saturday.

Ponick 5.6 yards per carry, 117 yards
Peete 5.1 yards per carry, 123 yards

So......

These are the most surprising stats to me, even more than the 8 yards passing (I kept looking back at the scoreboard (it shows stats) assuming the number was wrong). To have two backs with that 21 and 24 carries each average > than 5 yards is truly impressive. Way to go O-line and way to run hard rb’s.

Agreed. And to me that is especially impressive when the defense HAD to be expecting a run on almost every play. We didn't even bother concealing the fact that we weren't particularly interested in throwing as the game wore on. And once again, one of my favorite ways to end a game. We get the ball with 5:09 left and drain it all with 10 straight running plays. Classic UW-W finish.

That was really sweet.

Heck, nine of those ten mighta been the same play.

And for the record, I was in the stands watching the game at kickoff. Unfortunately my friend was inadequately dressed, so we moved to the bar at halftime.

I heard someone a few rows behind me yelling at Cole, so I can vouch for Emma being there  ;)

Yeah, to me the story of the game is the UWW defense. They were outstanding. 4 turnovers resulting in 23 points and holding Bethel to 65 yds rushing is the story of the game. That was a dominant performance.

Hey, don't short change them. It was 5 turnovers. Block punt on Bethel's 2nd possession. Block punts do count as turnovers, right?

They definitely have the same effect as turnovers, but as far as the statistics column, they're not counted the same.

In Warhawk alum news today, Kumerow caught his first pass. Besides special teams, I don't think he got on the field till the 4th quarter which was a crime the way the rookie WRs ahead of him were dropping footballs.

LL and Buffalo go to the Dollar General Bowl to play Troy in Mobile. Looks like a good matchup. NIU goes to Boca Raton, certainly a more pleasant vacation destination than Mobile in December, but I don't know if the payout is much different.

If/when you go to Mobile, I recommend that you take an entire day to visit the USS Alabama battleship.

You can also head down the road to the casinos in Mississippi.

Wisconsin Whitewater zero passing game.

If you've been outside today and live in these parts, you'd know why. Even long snaps are clearly adventurous enough. Didn't make sense to pass at all from mid 3Q on. Why pass when all you should be thinking about is lengthening the field, shortening the game and minimizing your opponents' opportunities to score?

Smart game by the Warhawks today.

They could have used the backs coming out of the backfield.

Short crossing routes and slants.

I'm 20 minutes from UWW

retagent

After seeing what passing did for Bethel, which is not their strong point anyhow, why would UWW resort to passing when the run game is probably their strong point on offense.

To keep the defense honest. Short routes, backs coming out
of the backfield. Play action, short routes. I'm not saying going
vertical. I'm suggesting shorter, higher probability of success
throws.
