I have no doubt that UWW is back. They showed that last year. They will definitely be a force to contend with.

It's just too bad about that particular shade of purple the team wears. Now, Mount Union purple is another matter. Pure class. But I digress..............

What exactly is a "warhawk"? Is that a mythical bird? I leave this discussion for others.

And by the way, GO WARHAWKS! (And GO RAIDERS, as well).  ;D
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

Anybody hear anything good/bad/otherwise about Trewyn? I see him listed behind three other guys at center on Tampa Bay's depth chart and while that's probably not where you want to be, I'm not sure if/how they update that thing. They play the Steelers tomorrow. Hope he gets a fair shake.

Can friggin August be over now please? How bout we just jump ahead a week and start camp? Lots of questions for the WIAC contenders... the most important of which will be answered with the first roll call next week. Some wacky rumors out there...

I think Nate is doing fine. As an undrafted DIII athlete, I'm sure he is sitting exactly where he expected to be at this point. We are just starting this race. If they are running the same schedule as GB, they've been in pads less than a week.

I have no idea how the other teams will be this year, but I believe UW-W will be better this year. We have some growing up to do on defense, but lots of athletes to do it. Offensively, the athletes we will have on this team are downright scary. We put up 41.6 points per game last year and I expect that number to go up.

D3football ranks the Warhawks No. 4 in the preseason poll behind MHB, Mt Union and St. Johns. Not much of a surprise when you balance their tradition and recruiting standards with the fact they have to replace a QB, Trewyn, Hasty and a gaggle of other Warhawk studs.

What surprises me is there are no other WIAC teams in the Top 25. La Crosse is 27th on the list and I'm on board with the Eagles being in the scrum as the 2nd best team in the WIAC... kind of. UWO is 34th. Titans stay healthy and I think they'll vault the Eagles. But these teams make a stronger second tier in the WIAC than they're getting credit for, IMO.

With 3 MIAC teams in the top 10, is this the year we get to claim the #1 conference title?

(Nah, the rest of the conference and overall depth makes enough of a case for me, but that's not as provocative)

No different than any other year. The Hawks have been replacing studs with studs for about 15 years now.

Nothing provocative about it imo, I certainly think the MIAC should take top billing as toughest conference.
The WIAC can win the title back w a strong showing in 2019.

My 2019 season hope:
UWW, UMHB, MT and St. John's go 10-0 in regular season.
UWW faces SJU in quarters, MT in semi and UMHB in Stagg.

The Warhawk is the most fierce hawk on the planet. It's favorite food is the macaw!  ;)

The bird is a macaw. MUcaw is just the name of your stupid bird. But the bird itself is a macaw.  ;)  As far as the MUcaw being protected, I suspect there are a whole bunch of people that follow the playoff brackets every year who agree with you!  ;)
