Brad--hope you're right, but I have my doubts about whether Falcons can stop Roste, B's qb. If they. don't, game over.

I thought 57Johnnie and I, since we both graduated in 1957, were the oldest guys on the boards. But, after checking your profile, I see you are 3 years older than us. Hooray for you. The three of us can show these young kids what it means to be a real fan.
Best to ya fred and your team. In fact, Go Everybody!  ;D

You say you're the oldest Falcon fan. Old? Check out my signature below. Do you have those problems?  ???  ;D

A +K for ya. We "advanced middle aged" fans, some call us seniors, have to stick together!  8-)

Here we go with week 2. Great work by the WIAC in week one. Lets see what we can do in week two!

First up:
UWW vs CM- I was not impressed with CM offense Saturday against UWL. Now I do think that UWL has a legit defense. I will be interested on how UWW continues to handle the QB rotations. I just do not see this being a game. UWW 38-7.

UWO vs Salisbury- I do not know one thing about Salisbury so this will be a total bias WIAC pick. UWO wins 42-10

UWEC vs St. Norberts- Reading through the box score from UWEC and reading about UWEC offense, it does not look like they did much. They had 6 plays for over 200 yards other than that they did not have much to them. The QB play looks shaky for UWEC. UWEC plays some very good defense and after seeing Norbs giving up 50 last week I would think UWEC wins this 28-14

UW Stout vs Gustie- Stout was the most impressive WIAC week 1. They have weapons on the outside. Gustie was not tested week one by playing Martin Luther. Stout should handle this one 31-14.

Stevens Point vs Wabash- Point is the one team that I know very little about. If someone on this board could fill me or us in that would be great. Wabash in the past has been a good football team. It was a decent game last year. I think Wabash pulls an upset here 28-24

Game of the week #1
UWL vs IW- We have a top 25 preseason match up in La Crosse. It was a great game last year with UWL coming out on top. I have heard that IW has returned their top WR and QB from last year. UWL did not impress me on offense last Saturday. I am expecting a low scoring game going to IW with a score of 21-14.

Game of the week #2
UWRF vs Bethel: This would be a huge step for UWRF to have a chance at a top 15 program. I have been waiting for them to take a step for 5 years now. Bethel pounded Simpson last week 42-10. UWRF pounded UMM who is awful. Home opener for UWRF in a program game I think they turn the corner 28-17. This will be the game I attend this weekend. (wife works weekends so can drive where ever I want to catch a game  ;D )

Best of luck to WIAC this week!

For what its worth, Hansenratings posted his quantitative assessment of the outcomes for this weekend (https://www.hansenratings.com/game-predictions) and the spreads are as follows:

UWW vs CM +21.7
UWO @ Salisbury +10.4
UWEC @ St Norbert -1.3
UW Stout vs Gustavus +4.9
UWSP vs Wabash +5.6
UWL vs IWU +8.5
UWRF vs Bethel -18.2

I dont know much about Salisbury either. But I do know I enjoy salisbury steak. In fact I think I'm going to have that tonight with mashed taters, gravy, pickles, ring bologna, squash and sardines. And maybe top it off with to or tree dozen Budweisers.

Maybe stay away from open flames today

Pretty solid numbers. I think if someone put a gun to my head and made me bet two games with these numbers, I'd take IWU (+8.5) and Eau Claire (+1.3).

And Wabash getting 5.6 points in Point seems inviting.

Point beating Wabash would be the upset in my mind.

muc57: good to hear from you. Yes, if I had a name like yours I would be uwrf 55. We elderly types do bring a certain something 2 these conversations. I will let others decide what that something is. You have a decided advantage over the years in having watched nothing but championship football. I can only imagine the fun that must be. Nevertheless, I am quite sure your wishes for Mount Union in the next game are just as strong as mine are for the Falcons. Yes, I do experience those negatives you mention on a regular basis. Getting mixed up and Confused is part of the age game. But it is still great to be able to appreciate good division 3 Athletics.

Hope you don't mind my discussing our ages. What the hell, can't change it.
And Mount Union wasn't always good. As I have stated many times on these boards, the four years I was there, they won a total (for the 4 years) of 10 games. So we older alums are really enjoying this stretch. Won't last forever, but it sure is fun now.
Good luck to your Falcons. You have some tough teams in your conference. But, go get 'em!
And the advantage our age gives us is we have seen more Dlll events than the "kids".
Go Falcons. Go Raiders. And, in fact, Go Everybody!  8-)  ::)  ;D

Article on IWU and their (no lack of) confidence:

https://www.pantagraph.com/sports/college/illinois-wesleyan/iwu-out-to-prove-and-produce-a-lot-of-points/article_2aec912f-d9ff-5835-baf8-12995c4ceabb.html

IWU sure looks loaded on offense. Perhaps I should have read this article before doing my pickems.
I'll have to rely on the experience UWL gets in playing an offense like UWP.

Cmon Emma. To be fair I gave you all this info a couple weeks ago. You just didn't want to listen to me....which is nothing new.
