Nice accomplishment by the  UW-W defense in shutting out Stevens Point on Saturday. It is the first time the Pointers have been shut out since 2005. It is the first time they have been shut out at home since 1997.

Go Hawks!

Yeah, they played great. My favorite play on defense was the Urmanski handoff to Erbs for the 46 yard TD run. Well executed, well designed play.

Keep winning Salisbury Steak!!! Need an undefeated season out of you to boost UWO's resume. Because there's no doubt a  UWO  let down in conference is inevitable. 2 or 3 losses I've learned makes it difficult to get in. Would like to see this talented freshmen class get some early playoff experience.

I would say both UWL and UWO are playing for their playoff lives Saturday. Loser will get that dreaded 2nd (D3) loss, which crushes any Pool C hopes. And both teams still have UWW looming in November.

If UWW runs the table and finishes the regular season undefeated, I think UWP is the only Pool C hopeful from the WIAC. They, of course, still have to beat UWO next weekend for that to happen.

Agree with you re UWP, 02. While I don't think we're setting up to see a 2-loss WIAC team in the playoffs, a team to watch here is St Thomas, which itself is all but eliminated, but beating Bethel and GA down the stretch could wedge the door open for a team like UWO, should they lose to UWW.

My second favorite WIAC team allegiance switched from UWO to UWL a couple years ago.

I always pegged you for more of a UWEC guy.

Yes, for visiting. Their nursing program, Gender ratio- 62% female / 38% male.

Until you got married to one of the coolest women on the face of the earth!

Yeah, I was just trying to look cool talking about the ratio. I've been blessed w the one- thanks for such a nice complement.

A hypothetical two-loss UWO should be on the table ahead of a hypothetical two-loss UST, because of the teams' results against Eau Claire.

Agree. My point was more about putting Bethel and GA behind UWO. UST is all but eliminated, but certainly has a say in Pool C.

It's just the truth. She is the best. And you are a great husband to her. That's beyond debate. But I simply can't let minor details like that influence how I respond to your posts. (Usually there would be an emoticon here).

Thumbs up on the creativity there.

Between your kinds words and UWW's play Saturday (3 TD drives 75 yards+), I've got nothing to debate.

Hold on, did I read from Bofa that UWO is running motion and slant routes? Why doesn't UWW go back to that?!

See, you just can't help yourself can you? Why don't we go back to running motion and slant routes? First off, I believe I have seen both, so the question really is :

"Why don't we use as much motion and as many slant routes as Emma would like us to?".

Answer: I don't know. Maybe we are too busy being 6-0 the way we do it.

You are a good man, Bobo! Read between the lines my friend. I don't care about motion. I care about winning!  You guys act as if somehow we would be better than 6-0 if we ran motion.

How about this? Bit@# when we lose and give props when we win. Deal?

Here's my ideal scenario: winning the Stagg Bowl without one single slant pass and without one more play with pre-snap motion all year.  That's what I want. Now having said that, if we choose to sneak a couple of those things in, I won't be whining about it. Because I like winning more than I don't like slant passes. Probably even more to the point, I like winning more than I like being right.  I'm not sure that's the case with every UW-W poster.

Many of us have gotten spoiled. That's all there is to it. Myself too sometimes.

emma17

As a reminder, this is a football discussion board-where differing opinions are commonly shared. If the only discussion we are allowed to have for a 6-0 team is regurgitating the positive plays, it's going to get very lonely around here.
I love UWW and have logged the miles, expense and time to show for it.
Spoiled is not a word I buy into. As a certain purple shaded poster's father/coach used to say- never compare yourself with mediocrity. UWW built a championship program (and I'm not talking conference champions), there are expectations that come with that- for players and coaches.

I'll do my best to balance praise w critique- as that's the type of fan I choose to be.
