As a reminder, this is a football discussion board-where differing opinions are commonly shared. If the only discussion we are allowed to have for a 6-0 team is regurgitating the positive plays, it's going to get very lonely around here.
I love UWW and have logged the miles, expense and time to show for it.
Spoiled is not a word I buy into. As a certain purple shaded poster's father/coach used to say- never compare yourself with mediocrity. UWW built a championship program (and I'm not talking conference champions), there are expectations that come with that- for players and coaches.

I'll do my best to balance praise w critique- as that's the type of fan I choose to be.

I understand this, I too had* lofty expectations of them due to their success over the past 15 years. However, when there's a mass exodus of the coaching staff I would think some regression might be expected. That's pretty much exactly what happened here. They're still a very good program, but not at the same level of when LL and his staff was here.

*I say had because three of the last four years we've been bounced from the playoffs by 30, 17 and 17 points with 0 trips tips to the Stagg Bowl. That doesn't include the year we missed the playoffs all together. I've come around to the notion that UWW is now probably at the bottom end of the top tier (if there is such a place). With MHB, Mount, St. John's and arguably Wheaton (this year at least) above them.

Well said 02.
The bolded part is the dilemma for some of us UWW fans. Are they doing great at 6-0 this year? Absolutely. Just as they were doing great in 2015, 2016 and 2018. All those seasons were great successes from an overall record/team accomplishment standpoint.

But here comes the kicker. IF UWW's goal was to get to the Stagg/win the Stagg, reasonable fans have to look at those three playoff losses and think- is UWW's offense better suited in 2019 to execute deep in the playoffs? I don't know, but obviously, it's a subject I personally enjoy discussing.

Jake Kumerow was the guest this week on "Total Packers With Matt LaFleur".  Host Larry McCarren asks Jake about the Whitewater program and Jake educates him on our "Pound the Rock" mentality.

Love the Whitewater shout-out!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Outstanding. UWW's first offensive series utilizes motion on multiple plays and culminates with a slant route TD.
The drive continued with a 4th down pass completion to Kumerow on a great route and throw.

emma17

And now a long TD run by Peete, shaking second level tacklers and taking it to the house.
Yeeeeesss

Was there also a near TD pass and run by a TE that was called back by penalty?

It's contagious WW, someone needs to tell the person at River Falls doing the Live Stats to wake up too. They got Jerrod Ware kicking extra points for UWW, Zach Oles, who was knocked out of the game earlier, throwing a TD pass through the porous RF pass defense, and Max Meylor who replaced Oles as QB, playing defense & recovering the fumble by RF #11 leading to the Warhawks latest TD. I guess there are other discrepancies but I'm too busy to look.

Meylor now has two defensive fumble recoveries, as Live Stats has him recovering the fumble by the RF QB at the UWW 1 yard line with :02 showing on the clock. He then hands off to Alex Peete to end the first half. What an amazing performance by Meylor coming off the bench in the first half.

Maybe one of you stats guru's can tell us when the last time a player threw a TD pass on offense and recovered 2 defensive fumbles in one half of ball?

 Wow.
What a horrific first half to follow. Within a blink of an eye UWL up 14-0 in first 3 min. First play of game goes for 45yds. Seconds later TD. UWO offense 3 and out. Blocked punt. Short field at 30. Couple plays later TD.  UWO defense gets a stop. Fake punt first down for UWL.  UWO no first downs 1st qtr. UWO offense gets their first first down. Next play fumble loss.  Another short field for UWL leads to TD.  UWL fumble loss to short field for UWO. Can't punch it in. Settle for FG. Ensuing kickoff out of bounds short of midfield!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?  Leads to TD.
HARD TO GIVE YOUR DEFENSE A CHANCE TO STOP WITH 2 SHORT FIELDS OF 30 AND 1 OF 45!!!!
I'm thinking they're drunk. Gotta be.
I know I've said this before. But the special teams is horrific. Just awful. Besides todays first half, I can recall 4 blocked FG attempts. 2 returned for TDs. 3 blocked punts. FG attempts hitting at 66%. And kickoffs  continually landing out of bounds.
They're getting smashed in the mouth and The Big Lebowski is making them their b&@ch.
Dont see them coming back from that first half. Berghammer can't hit the broad side of my sister's big a$$. (Oh snap)
Well. What I thought might be a breakout game against a real test team has turned out to show that UWO isnt there yet. Maybe a ways away. Gosh darn it.

La Crosse completed the beatdown of Oshkosh 31-3.

Kumerow takes an onside kick attempt by RF to the house. Before crossing the goal line turns and points a finger at the falcon trailing him, gets called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Ball goes back to the 17 yard line. Next play UWW scores on a 19 yard run.

Final score UWW 49-28. I am a bit angry that at 42-13, this game was all but over with UWW trying to run out the clock. But RF continued to pile up on a losing score, passing the ball all over the place & forcing the Warhawks to score one last time on a little razzle-dazzle play.  It's sure to irk some Falcons fans. Deja vu all over again.

Hope he gets his ass chewed out for that stunt. What a punk move.

If wouldn't be season without an ugly win against UWRF.

Where's the discipline on this team that Bullis preaches before every game? FFS

Blugolds again have no ability to sustain an offensive drive.

Flipped over to watch Stout beat UWSP in double overtime. Good finish to that game.
