Wow!  I'm glad that system slid south of MN!

SJU uses the rotating brushes, but I think that is more effective on lighter snowfalls.  I feel like I have seen them use plows on heavier snows.  I am guessing they keep the plow a few inches off the surface and then finish up with brushes, though.  Maybe it depends on the surface, too.  SJU has SprinTurf.

We got a healthy dose of snow during our game with Thomas More last year, and they had student workers shoveling the lines.

A tradition unrivaled...

I caught a glimpse of the Lancaster-Mineral Point HS Playoff game on the news last night. The game was at UWP's Pioneer Stadium. It looked like the field had been covered and in good condition. After playing through rain against Thomas Moore, the monsoon against LaCrosse and in the wind tunnel at Whitewater Platteville has seen all kinds of weather this year a little snow shouldn't hurt. (Mineral Point won 35-28)

So.... snow. A local turf installer has made recent noise about the use of snow plows on turf fields, and that their use will void a warranty. I'm not sure same applies to snowblowers, but I'm not sure they would be a practical means of removing that much snow from a football field. There's 6 inches on the ground at many WIAC locales, many of which still have overnight and morning snow showers in the forecast.

Seriously... what do they do? Lots of shovelers? Take the chance with plows/warranties? Just play in what's there? Seem to remember last year's SNC-Whitewater playoff game had what appeared to be plowed snow piles outside the end zones but that wasn't nearly as much snow.

We use a large brush mounted on the front of a vehicle.   The shoveling is done in the grandstand.

I'd like to say no, but I was a little worried. Never lost faith. Good game though, glad they could pull it out. LAX has some stud receivers though.

Wow. That final 6 min of that UWP/UWO game was something else!!!
Just when you think UWO wets the bed by allowing UWP to score with 1:45 left on the clock,  the freshman duo of Kobe & Peter Mac carry team down field to score TD with 10sec on clock.
Very nice road win.

Well....Looks like #1 in the West is now UWW's to lose.

Need to finish strong.

Another crushing defeat for La Crosse at the hands of the Warhawks - 17 in a row vs La  X.

Last season the Eagles held a 7-3 lead at the half. This year 3-0.

Oh and the cherry on top is Concordia beating St. John. The path to a #1 seed is now a yellow brick road. Click your heels Warhawks, it's all in front of you now baby!! Stout coming to town next week. Usually another ugly game.

There was no flinching on the part of the Warhawks. Nervous? Get real WW. I guess this was just you trying to be a DH.

Good news, yes...hawks should host until the final 4 now if they finish their schedule strong. Bad news, we might have to face SJU earlier in the playoffs now (2nd or 3rd round). Yes they lost, but still very dangerous.

I don't fully trust our pass defense. #5 today for UWW.... Ouch. He had an INT goes right through his arms (not hands...arms) only for #17 to catch it which led to the go ahead TD. Other DBs looked lost in covering down field throws. Lost track on how many 3rd and Long UWL converted today. Frustrating.

A win is a win and we got the INT In crunch time.

Just saw Coach Fasching of SJU say they had to move on and "prepare for Hamline." Prepare for Hamline? SJU could take the week off and still beat Hamline! Too bad the WIAC doesn't have a Hamline. RF might get a conference win!

Hats off to Oshkosh they certainly didn't play like a team that just lost to LaCrosse 31 to 3. When Platteville scored I was thinking that they left to much time on the clock. Oshkosh had a huge 3rd and 14 (??) early in the final drive. After running the ball most of the day they were able to complete some big passes in their winning drive.

Great win for the Warhawks! Give credit to La Crosse. They played well. Their QB throws a good ball. Although there's a couple completions he got that I'm still not sure how our DB's missed. Great punch-back victory!

Pretty horrible day for the transitive property

Either the transitive property sucks or a score of 38-20 simply can't be trusted!  ;)

I know how UWW's DB's missed them, but I know you don't want to hear about it so I shall remain silent.
