I like both QB's.
For my taste, I wouldn't make the decision for QB based on who throws the better long ball. If UWW needs the long ball to win deep in the playoffs, forget about it.

Move the chains.

The viable threat of the long ball will definitely open things up underneath to move the chains.

You'll have to define viable. Are you saying a defense will say "hey, Olles is at QB, just let the UWW receivers run deep all they want, we won't cover them"?

Well it's not just the deep ball. I just really liked what I saw in Meylor. He has a stronger arm with more accuracy.

Great to watch Kumerow play today with the Packers. He is such a high effort and effective blocker. He made some nice blocks today in addition to a couple catches. It looks like he's having a blast playing.

Agreed.  So fun seeing him compete on that stage.  That interior block that sprung Jones on a big run was huge! He definitely looks like he's having a great time!

I see Oles was removed the last series before half and didn't return. Injury?

Not an injury. We were missing some opportunities and so we put in Max. We are blessed to have two good quarterbacks. Max did a great job!

I've never seen Meylor throw a deep ball. In fact, last athletic competition I've seen him in was a state championship high school basketball game, if I remember right. So disclaimer is I'm totally unqualified to judge his merits vs Oles.

But after watching Oles vs LaCrosse, I'm a big fan. Maybe he doesn't throw a deep ball as well as Meylor, but he sure plays the position well. Kid's got some kinda guts too. Blessed indeed if you've got one that you think can play better than him.

Oles had a rough day Saturday. Missing open receivers, couldn't get into any rhythm. Glad Bullis decided to give Meylor a chance, because he looked great. He was throwing darts all over the place, right on target too. He even had a 18 yard TD run.

Bullis has a tough choice to make for Oshkosh...that's going to be a big one.

I see, that's quite different. I'm with you in wanting accuracy.
I wish I had game tape as I just don't feel comfortable picking a favorite QB as there are so many factors at play.
I was impressed w Meylor's accuracy in the late third/fourth quarter, but I'm cautious because the game situation was very different, especially his last TD pass. I think UWS looked surprised UWW passed at that point, I know I was.

I hope the Warhawks play the QB that will throw it to the Titans the most. I think the only way we can win this game is by winning the turnover battle by a good margin.

Seriously though, I just can't fathom how you could lose to Hamline. If there was ever a game to try to figure out the PAT and kicking woes, this is it.

You weren't kidding.  They are BAD.  Hamline vs. Auggie Tech this week --> Ish.

A tradition unrivaled...

Former Bethel coach asked Augsburg HC before the game how many trick plays he had in the game plan ... "Only three, I'm saving the rest for Hamline!"  ;D true story

The only way the WIAC will get  2 teams in the playoffs is if WW's QB  throws it to Oshkosh players (don't think that will happen). There are plenty of 1 loss 2nd place teams (whose only loss is to a undefeated conference champ)  that will be ahead of of a 2 loss WIAC team. Teams like:
1. John Carroll, only loss is to Mt. Union
2. North Central,  only loss is to Wheaton
3. Redlands, only loss is to Chapman
4. Wesley, whose only loss is to Salisbury  (who beat Oshkosh)
Then what will the selection committee do about Wartburg who lost to Central and if Bethal  beats St. Thomas will they get in? Looks like WW will carry the WIAC flag into the playoffs because the WIAC is to good from top to bottom.

Or Susquehanna, only loss to unbeaten Muhlenberg.

Say Oshkosh wins... does Whitewater make the field? Their loss to 2-loss Oshkosh would be "worse" than any of the above's loss.

I'm not sure that John Carroll is a strong candidate this year. They also have to beat Baldwin-Wallace this week. But to your point, there are a ton of quality one loss teams still on the board. That could all change in a hurry Saturday, but as it stands, I think it's a tough year for really good 2 loss teams.

USee

a one-loss UWW would rank very high in the West standings, even if to 2 loss UWO. Their SOS would be one of the highest on the board. I would think they would be either #1 or #2 on the Pool C board from the West and would make the field pretty handily. The problem is UWW could bump another high quality team, potentially Bethel or NCC from the field.

I think a couple good 1-loss teams aren't gonna be happy either.
