There once was a time when this board would be active with discussion about the upcoming round two playoff game.
I wager one reason for the silence is the absence of Mr. Bleedpurple. I don't know for certain, but given his role with the team I assume it's a bit difficult to participate in banter.

The last time these teams squared off, LL made the announcement prior to the game.

Ready for Round 2! Good luck Warhawks! If they can repeat the type of play from the first half against Monmouth, they should be in good shape against Wartburg. Can't afford a performance like the one against UW-O anymore.

As far as the broadcast on UWWTV, I enjoy getting to watch when I can't get to Perkins Stadium. I usually have the radio broadcast on from 106.5 WKCH, even though you have to deal with them not being insync with each other.

Anyone watch the d3football.com bracket blitz? I liked seeing parts of lots of games. Would have liked them to stick with a game for a few minutes, or even a drive, instead of flipping every play. I guess it is supposed to be like NFL RedZone, but I have never had that channel.

Agreed that sometimes we flipped too fast, but I was not in charge of the clicker. :)

Yeah, it has been quiet this week about the game. I think this is a very winnable game and UWW should be favorites, but I wouldn't be shocked if we struggled and Wartburg gets their Warhawk monkey off their back.

I still think UWW's defense is vulnerable to a strong passing game, especially if we're banged up on that side of the ball. Looks like Wartburg has as very accurate QB which could be trouble for us.

The is our final home game of the year....hopefully they're up for it.

It doesn't appear they are super stout against the run. If it's a rainy day, it may play into UWW's hands. Maybe this game will be similar to Bethel last year.
It looks like they have a couple QB's they trust. I'm confident in the UWW D, even with injuries, but passing attacks can be the great equalizer.

Hate it when that happens ...

But kudos for the Blitz (even with East Coast clicker bias http://www.d3boards.com/Smileys/classic/wink.gif) Plan to mirror to the big screen until next weekend's late game kicks off. I need to figure out a way to track Logan Hansen and other Twitter aces down a rail to really stay in touch.

With all the games I sure you can't please everyone, but the effort is definitely appreciated.

I did think we were spending way too much time on the Union game ... and then that paid off for us because the Union game became legitimately one of the top five most interesting games of the day.

I'll have real time twitter reactions from Chapman on Saturday.

Thanks, Wally.  If I hadn't volunteered to hold down the fort at work Friday, I might have made it out there. Will look forward to your tweets. Enjoyed Logan's real time updates last week.

Just for argument's sake, What if UWW and SJU win their next 2 games. I would think there's a good chance that game is in Whitewater.

No chance they win in Belton. But yeah, I guess in the unlikely scenario that would be true

This old Mount Union Purple Raider fan wishes UWW good luck Saturday.
It's nice to see you guys back in the hunt after a brief hiatus.
I'll be at the Mount game but also following the Warhawks.
Go get 'em and keep going.
Go Warhawks and Go Raiders!  ;D
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

That is an interesting scenario Ret. My memory may be failing but I believe IL high school used to assign home field based on the seed of the winner- or the seed of the team you beat. I know this is irrelevant to D3, but it has some merit in discussion anyway.
Since UWW beat the team that beat St. John's, it seems like an easy call for the committee.

Although 02 isn't optimistic UWW can win the next two, I'm a bit more positive as I feel Wartburg, UMHB and UWW all have enough flaws to allow for an "any given day" outcome.

I'm thinking (which is dangerous) that UWW is the 2nd seed in their bracket, and SJU is the 3rd seed in their bracket. So that would favor UWW. If they were both 3's or 2's, I don't know what would prevail.

I think the final regional rankings are factored in as well.
