Look for the name Tommy Bowden on Saturday. My guess is he will play an important role in the Cru success.

Really! A QB change? Was anything wrong with Hammack's 337 yard, 3 td performance Saturday?

Most likely won't be a QB change but Tommy is a fast guy who can still throw well so he could open up the offense in some situations in ways that Jace doesn't have the speed to do.

Welp. That's a true freshman, with all of 22 collegiate passes under his belt, none in high leverage, vs a 5th year senior with a Stagg Bowl win to his credit. If I'm UWW, I might like to see Bowden too.

He might be another Greg Micheli too?

UMHB - minus 4 1/2
O/U 37 1/2

Who ya got?

As much as it pains me to say, I'm going with MHB to cover.  I'd much rather see UWW move on as the rural, blue collar HS coach in me hates the way MHB wins.  Horribly coached, but supremely athletic.  Very much like your typical big city HS.

I assume it is.   ;D

However on my side I still have nightmares about Kumerow running free through our completely over matched secondary.

The UWW-MT series provided us with many great memories of guys stepping up big time for both programs. I realize I'm likely under the influence of Warhawk bias, it just seems to me the recent Stagg Bowl games haven't provided the same level of performance/excitement.

^ I agree.  Maybe it's because watching MHB's offense hovers between backyard football and watching paint dry.

Hammack and Josey made some really big plays in the championship game last year.  In 2017, the MVP was either the wind or Mount Union's punter.  In 2016, UMHB got a small lead and played the single-Blake offense until time ran out.  The common thread, obviously, is UMHB and their penchant to basically park the bus and lean on their defense to score or create the short field.

I expect we'll see that tomorrow in what may well be just an awful game for casual spectators.  Not that UMHB or UWW care who is watching or what entertainment value they might get from it.

02 Warhawk

All six d3 dudes picked MHB tomorrow, can't say I disagree. I hope they - and myself - are wrong, but I just don't see it happening for our 'Hawks based on their body of work this season.

I believe the Wheaton/St. John's winner will be meeting NCC in the Stagg Bowl. Definitely the game of the quarterfinals, IMO.

And that's the reason the UWW game doesn't get the big screen billing in the D3 playoff viewing command center. St. John's - Wheaton gets the big screen, probably NCC- Del Val (I'm thinking may be a close game) the medium screen and UWW gets the laptop screen (ouch).

If that's true, I'd imagine when they see the second half scores, they will do some major screen flipping.

Yeah, I think the screen juggle for me tomorrow looks like:
12-1: Mules-Gulls on the big screen
1-4: SJU-Wheaton on the big screen, Mules-Gulls and UWW-UMHB share laptop real estate, NCC-DelVal on the tablet

Then adjustments as time and score situations call for it.  Who knows, by the time we get to the 4th quarter of the 1 EST starts, UWW-UMHB may be the only close game left.
