Congrats to the Warhawks.
I rooted for UWW and I rooted for SJU!

Pull for the home team.

Well, it's a return to the old foe. It's been many a year but I'm glad to be back. Who knows where this will be played but on the boards suspect it will total war.  Great win, Warhawks, and that's the last compliment you get for seven days.

Why were Wheaton game announcers so convinced the game will be in collegeville?

Spiked the ball on the TD

So, I'm just going to say it. I watched that game and I have no complaint w the referee's call, but I sure wondered aloud why the center was carrying the ball at the goal line. I know Wheaton has very good RB's. I get the whole "Fridge" ness of the play, but for me, you go w what got you there. Unintended consequences.

I think it's because the NCAA can make the home team whoever they want and the Jays won the MIAC and have been road warrior this whole time so folks are thinking it's them.  I think they are travelling.  I think I would prefer it, actually, as they have gotten themselves on a good travel routine.

I agree. The RB would have acted like he had  been their before. The gimmick play cost them with a guy getting too emotional who's not used to scoring.

Pretty much, yes.  UWW was ranked #2 in the West, St. John's #4.  This is easy and the Wheaton broadcast crew didn't take the time to understand this before they (repeatedly) forecasted semifinal sites.

Hopefully they can get more than 500 people this week.  I know the holiday recess dampens postseason attendance, but that's beyond brutal.

Just a guess.  Wheaton had used the jumbo package throughout the year.  Obviously not a core scheme, nor a gimmick either.  It had been successful at other points during the year on 4th and short.  And their best running back had been hobbled for the better part of the season with a high ankle sprain, which he appeared to re-tweek earlier in the quarter.

On the Pregame radio show, VOJ said that Wheaton regularly used the Center as a RB on the goal line and short yardage plays.
I certainly can't verify that.

Wow, and Wheaton pulls an 'Ole Miss and loses.

Isn't Wheaton like the most ultra religious type school there is? What could someone have said/done to get a penalty like that?

Hard to tell. Cost them the game whatever it was. Discipline?

Center lined up in the backfield as fullback 3 straight plays.  Goes for 6, 1, and then 1 yard TD.  Was over excited and threw the ball down hard.  Enough to be deemed spiking the ball.  Not a real spike, but the ref has to call it.  A lot of centers scoring a potential game tying TD in the quarterfinals of the playoffs might get a bit excited.

Not sure exact what any of the above has to do with coming from a private Christian college.  What does personal religious faith have to do with any of that?

I saw the play, just didn't see what warranted the penalty.

It's an auto call. As soon as the kid saw the flag he knew what he had done.

Love to see this one at the Perk. Think they still have kids around through the next week, unlike a lot of state schools which have exams this week.

Congrats UWW. You whipped out butts today. A very well deserved win.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I believe the "Shall not Spike" law was not in the Bible put on the stone w the 10 commandments. It was commandment 7a. Thou shall not steal or spike the ball after a touchdown.

Still in shock. Don't think anyone saw that coming. Especially against a very good UMHB defense.
