I'm hearing Mike Schmidt is gone from La Crosse. Going to D-II Northern State. He definitely pumped some juice into his alma mater but left before finishing the job. Anyone from up that way know why that move and why now?

Wow, leaving his alma mater for some ho-hum directional DII I had to look up to see where it is makes one wonder what happen with his relationship with UWL? Hope he enjoys recruiting South Dakota.

What is the tailgating situation for the visiting team at UWW?

Here is a parking lot map link:  http://uww.edu/documents/campus/uwwmap.pdf

There is no separation of home and visitors when it comes to tailgating.

Lot 24 is where the season ticket holders park. it's not usually filled for the playoffs. I had heard they may sell some spots the day of the game.  Probably a steep price since the season ticket holders pay $150 for the season.

Lot 11 is where much of the tailgating is done by both home and visiting fans.

Here is a link to the tailgating policy. I am officially old because our policy bans "drinking paraphernalia" that I have never even heard of!  :o

During the post game press conference yesterday, Warhawk safety and captain Nate Tranel gave a glimpse into the Hawks' mindset heading into this week:

"I don't think it will ever erase the feeling we had last year," Tranel said. "It's always in the back of our mind all right, well, now we have another game. Yes, right now we're going to celebrate and enjoy the night together. This is a huge accomplishment for us, but we're never going to forget about that feeling from last year. We lost in the fourth round last year and we're going into the fourth round this year. ...

"It's nice that we got this win, but we can't forget about (the loss) because that's what drives us every day."

Wonder if Lewandowski is going with him? The timing makes that possible.

D O.C.

I've stayed off this board all season, but I do want to say hello to 413. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Not sure if it's been mentioned but UWW was mentioned on ESPN Sportscenter a couple times yesterday morning.

I snapped a couple photos of my TV.   When I try to post them, I keep receiving this error message: "The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator."

Both photos have been downsized to below 200KB.

I had the exact same thought Pat.

Yes, welcome 413.  We knew you never swayed....despite that Carroll fling.   ;D

I would't call it a fling. More like a brief flirtation...............   ;D :D 8-)

I would wager a guess that several good football players from the Coulee region will be playing ball at Northern State next season. Many of the Minnesota schools in that same conference have found the shopping for players in Wisconsin to their liking. With no D-2 competition in state a high number of next level talent leaves Wisconsin. I think Schmidt will probably do just fine in that category.

Welcome back to the boards 413- I hope all is well.
UWW's going to need some of your defensive mojo for this St. John's squad
Thank you, Emma, I think about you and your better half often.  Hope all is well.

Yes, Hawks will need a huge defensive showing this weekend to pull off a win against the Johnnies and their incredibly gifted QB.  His resume is unbelievable.  I already used one of my devices to cast a vote for him for the 2019 Gagliardi Award.  His football numbers are ridiculous but he really had me at "service trip to northern Thailand, where he worked with various organizations that fight child sex trafficking." WOW!   ;D

Going to need the same control of the LOS and TOP to keep him off the field as they did on Saturday against the Cru! And the LB's need to fly around. I have always said, even the great QB's can't make plays from the ground.   ;)  So here comes the MOJO

   DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONS!!!!

Agreed, he knows Wisconsin HS football and the recruiting landscape. SD doesn't have a ton of talent (especially local to Northern St), and the MN D2 schools & FCS I-29 schools have long made Wisc. a point of emphasis.
