Sorry for the grammar... all of you loser MIAC grads but I have a feeling that UWW is going to the Stagg again.  I know you guys hate this since 2005... but of well.  I really don't care.  Yes I am a former warhawk (kubiack)  and I am very proud of what they have done in the past 5+ years and I would put them up against any team in NAIA or DII. I have not been to a game since 2005 (Wesley) and enjoyed my self running into old teamates from the late 80's / early 90's  Janseville I know you got my back  thats all I have right now, Just finished a bottle of Jack... dont get liquor that often, you got a smart ass remark,  give me an address and I'm sure that I can be at your address within the next 9 weeks and we can talk about it, I have lots of time during my vacations :)

Did anyone take you up on your offer?

Interesting perspective on the deep throws. I'll agree with you partially and say: SJU has been ridiculously consistent in finding DB's that allow ridiculously easy long TD passes.

So, you're implying that Bethel, U$T, Aurora, Chapman, and Wheaton all have terrible defensive backs?
Actually, I believe he is saying UWW's CB might be better.

2014 was a different animal. IIRC UWW already had the WIAC crown in hand heading into the UWRF game. And the 2014  UWW team didn't give up 400 passing yards to anybody, or for that matter, 200+ in a few other league games, like the 2019 team did. Apples. Oranges. This team isn't as good, particularly its pass defense. Doesn't mean they can't win.

Not really the point Johnny come lately (I'm not implying you're a SJU guy).
The point is this. UWW has played in 9 Stagg Bowls, requiring 36 playoff victories (if my math is right) to get there. In every season there were doubts about this or that. Before every big playoff game there was the same chatter "UWW's not this and not that and look how they didn't win such and such games as convincingly as a true champion would and how can they stop a Gagliardi trophy winner and how can they stop a two-time Gagliardi trophy winner" and on and on.
UWW is different this year for sure, but so is this season in general. No MT and no UMHB.
Here's what I see, SJU barely got by Stout, scored very few points vs Bethel and fell apart v Concordia.
UWW doesn't have to be 2013 or 2014 good, they just have to be UWW good. And one thing that cannot he argued, is UWW proved w 6 national championships that they are really, really good at stopping the teams all the other programs couldn't.

Ehh, Whitewater's championship in 2014 is about as meaningful for this year as SJU's championship in 2003. Different coach, different players.

It's fun for rhetorical purposes but it's ultimately a pointless dismissal of any discussion about whatever weaknesses this team has.

So many people to dialogue with here.
First, your ill-informed point (you obviously didn't attend UWW). Here's the deal, UWW regular season 2019 on its own would play into your point.
However, your point dulls to the point of silliness because... UWW just beat the defending national champions. I'm sure your first instinct will be to tell us all how 2019 UMHB wasn't 2018 UMHB, blah, blah, blah. The point is, except for Bleedpurple, I don't imagine many people thought 2019 UWW had a real chance against 2019 UMHB. But, UWW of last Saturday looked a whole heck of a lot more like UWW of 2013 and 2014 than it did 2019 regular season. It could be something's in the air.

By all means, tilt at things you imagine I am saying instead of what I said.
UW-W beating UMHB and showing this team's potential and generally looking like a purple power for much of the year (Oshkosh game aside) makes for much better discussion than just beating down any questions about the team with the 6 rings and the program history etc. It just doesn't make for interesting or intelligent discussion (similar to chalking everything SJU up to Johnnie Magic).
Whitewater's history is all really admirable and I wish I had it for my team. But under Coach Bullis, Whitewater hasn't won the Stagg (and I don't think they've been there either) so the doubters have been right a lot since he took over. Looking forward to a great game on Saturday between 2 great 2019 teams with solid coaches and schools that have great football history. One of them will have a shot to bring home his first walnut and bronze as head coach.

Edit: Also, pardon my rambling nonsense if you desire. Typing coherently on mobile is tough.

No he's saying the DB's for the teams SJU has faced are lacking and give up ridiculously easy TD's. It's right there, we see it.

I saw that, that's pretty cool.

I didn't see the whole list but I'm sure he's not the only D3 coach on there (i.e. LK and Gagliardi)

Well, the quote WD is responding to said Emma is "implying" those schools have "terrible defensive backs". I'm with WD. I don't think that is what he's implying. St. John's has been successful in taking the top off of defenses and scoring with quick, long strikes. I think Emma's position is that is not likely to happen Saturday.  That position may not be the same as yours, but it is a reasonable one. Personally, I hope Erdmann throws deep a bunch. The more often he throws deep, the more often he gets hit. The more often he gets hit, the better for UW-W.
