Another recruit coming in is Madison Memorial QB Jason Ceniti, who has committed to UW-W as well. Ranked the #2 QB prospect in the state of Wisconsin by WSN, the 6'1" 196 pounder had a full ride offer from South Dakota State as well as scholarship offers from Minnesota-Duluth, Bemidji State, St. Cloud State, and Valpo. After junior season, he had contact with both Wisconsin and North Dakota State. From the little I've spoken with folks at UW-W, they believe that both Ceniti and Poorman have a chance to be really, really good.

UW-W lands a good QB today.  Ty Poorman, a Finalist for Mr. Florida and Luke Poorman's brother, committed to UW-W.

His twin brother Cole, a 6'1" 205 pound linebacker, also comitted to UW-W. Cole was named an All-Orlando area Linebacker

Ok, this is bizarre.  First of all, Florida?  How does that happen?  Secondly,  Luke Poorman's brothers?  Both of them.  How does that happen?  I don't mean to be redundant but we just don't get players from Florida.  Now there are three?  And how do we get the brothers of a UMU QB?  Especially ones with their credentials.  They all sound like really nice athletes.

My hat is off to whomever pulled this off.

Based on this interview Ty Poorman did with QB Hit List, I'm sold already.

Sounds like another great catch for UW-W.  However, one minor correction/question?  You mean he was offered academic or other scholarships from Valpo since they are in the Pioneer League and do not give athletic (football) scholarships, correct?

Great catch! On the list I saw, each school said "scholarship offer" with two exceptions. Valpo said only "offer" and South Dakota state said "full scholarship offer".  So my post was not accurate in that regard. Thanks for pointing it out so I could make the correction!

No problem, bleedpurple.  I didn't doubt you knew that (i.e. about the Pioneer League) and it was just an inadvertent oversight when you were doing your post as you mention.  We've all done that here on occasion, in being so concentrated in attempting to get our comments/points out that we've overlooked typos, confusing or in correct grammar, etc.  I am guilty of that!  Anyway, thanks for sharing the info on recruits with us and keeping us updated.  Who said the off-season on these boards were not informed (or fun)? ;)

Thanks again for pointing it out!

To try to keep us engaged in the off-season, here's a great video by John Broughton, our all-world videographer. Enjoy Warhwk (and football) fans!  (I always recommend going full screen!)

QB will be an interesting position to watch as UWW preps for next season. Oles and Meylor have each sought greener pastures and more PT before. With each facing only one more season of eligibility, you wonder if one of them will choose a different path. Or if some other D1 benchwarmer out there has set his sights on QB1.... that seems to be about an annual occurrence at UWW lately.

The Non-conference schedule is starting to fill in pretty well.

https://www.d3football.com/conf/wiac/2020/schedule
It's good to see schools from the MIAC and ARC are scheduling WIAC schools for non-conference games. I hope it continues it will make travel and scheduling easier for all three conferences and maybe make playoff seeding easier.

While Oles is a junior in the classroom, he was only a sophomore in terms of eligibility. Two years left. Doesn't detract from your point, just for the record.

I'm not aware of D1 QB transfers to UWW- who am I missing?
I know Oles and Meylor, as well as Blanchard and Jones transferred in, but they weren't D1.

I'll say this, if a QB does transfer in knowing there are two returning starters, it sure says something.

I'm guessing he is referring to the Pac-10 transfer from last year. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to recover sufficiently from surgery to compete at 100%.

Actually I was mainly referring to Oles, who came from Butler. The roster in 2018 listed him as a sophomore, so I presumed that referenced his eligibility. Appears the Butler season, therefore, was a redshirt.

Thanks for pointing out the pac-10 xfer, bleed. I wasn't going to :)

I appreciate that.  Since it's a year removed, it's a non-issue. I don't know if it's just me or not, but it seems like there might be an uptick in D-I transfers to a lot of the top teams in recent years.  There has been an active D-II train to D-III for a long time, but it seems like D-I transfers are more common recently. Maybe just my perception with higher profile guys like Rutter transferring from Indiana State and Erdmann from Penn State.

It will be interesting to see who lands some of the guys from the D-II schools in Minnesota that eliminated the football program. I think I saw on the Boards that UMHB landed a QB? And I think I saw on Twitter where they landed another Texas A&M track sprinter.
