Favre was more exciting to watch, perhaps, but Rodgers never would throw six interceptions in one game. In that regard, Rodgers is a better player.

Favre, Holmgren, Reggie and Wolf may always get more love because they resurrected a moribund franchise. And that's Ok.

But for which QB may give you a better chance to win any game, I might lean towards Rodgers.

Good point about resurrecting the franchise.
Although I'm a Bears's fan first, I have too many WI ties to be a Packer hater.
I imagine your opinion is shared by many that Rodgers is the choice to win any game. Like you, I really liked watching Favre play.
Favre is the hunter guy, Rodgers seems like the Hollywood guy.

Unpopular opinion:

Rodgers is not done in Green Bay. In the era of Fake (for profit) News, I've decided not to immediately buy into any story that does not come directly from the source. Here, Schefter releases a "story" on draft day based on recycled tidbits and not new informations. Ratings anyone?  Since then it has been one overblown reaction after another.  From the sources?  The Packers say they will never trade him and plan on him returning. Rodgers has not commented publicly AT ALL.  I see a lot of talk/shows and sports programming folks benefitting from this story.

My guess:  Rogers is frustrated that he has only one guaranteed year left on his contract. I think he is not commenting on the story because letting it continue could create leverage in cutting the best deal he can get in a renegotiation. If he retires, he owes Green Bay a bunch of money (I've heard $30 million). I don't care how much money he has, he's not doing that.

At the end of the day, I am guessing there will be a re-worked deal that will give Rodgers a guarantee for a couple of extra years.

All the rest I'm viewing as Fake (for profit) News until I hear more directly from the Packers or Rodgers.

Stop with this reasonableness.  Lemmings aren't going to fall off a cliff by themselves, you know.  Well, actually they will.  But not if you keep this up.

Isn't the fact that Rogers hasn't commented more proof than not? If it wasn't true wouldn't he have said something by now? It may be a negotiating ploy for Rogers but it sure seems like the story came from him.

I do lean toward Bleed's opinion on the issue. However I did hear this morning that NFL game scheduling is a bit up in the air. They'd love to promote a Rodgers/Mahomes prime time game.

Rodgers has commented publicly, if not directly. He blamed the media for click-baiting. What was missing in his comments was either a confirmation or a denial... and that, IMO, speaks volumes.

We also hear publicly that he is speaking to teammates (Davonte Adams in the news today). Quiet publicly but speaking to teammates. That's a statement as well

I don't think it offers proof. I think him silently letting the overreaction occur creates pressure for Green Bay to "do what it takes" to sign him. And he ends up better off for it. And then at the end of the day he does his typical schtick, "I don't know what all the fuss is about. Everyone just needs to r-e-l-a-x."

The messaging from former teammates AJ Hawk and James Jones is that they don't think there is a chance that he will retire and the situation is not irreconcilable. Seems to me that if there are conduits out there at his behest, they are preparing the public for a soft-landing return.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he's not happy. I'm not saying he's not arrogant. And I'm not saying it's currently resolved. I am saying that an awful lot of media outlets stand to benefit from the controversy. My view is that the media in general is increasingly profit and agenda driven and that has cost them credibility in my eyes. Unfortunately, at least the profit aspect is prevalent in sports as well. This roller coaster will go on for a bit. I'm just choosing not to get on. As Steven Crowder would say, "Rodgers will remain in Green Bay: Change My Mind."

I just saw photos of Kotelnicki and Borland in their KU shirts.
Congratulations to the new Offensive and Defensive Coordinators of the Kansas Jayhawks.
