According to the  Badger Wire the University of Kanas wants to set up a call with the Big Ten exploring a chance to join now that Texas and Oklahoma are leaving the Big 12. Lance Leipold could be playing the Badgers on a regular basis. Would Iowa State join as well?

Five years or less until the power3 break football from the ncaa.  Declare professionalism in some way and escape title ix.

Super excited about the announcement of the home and home with St. John's starting 2022. Congratulations to both programs for agreeing to go ahead- and provide us fans with such a fun weekend to look forward to. First of the home and home is on Sept 10, 2022 at St. John's- I sure would love to make that road trip.

On another note, I came across the following tidbit regarding Oregon State Football:
QuoteLosses:

Jackson Chryst (Transfer Portal - Wisconsin-Whitewater)

Per Hudl highlights, Jackson was quite the high school QB. I believe he is the nephew of Paul Chryst.

The home and home will definitely start the seasons with some zip.  It it looks like the bigger DIII programs are becoming quite the destination for D1 QB's that won't get D1 playing time.  DIII may go through quite the airball renaissance.

The problem for KU is that basketball has almost nothing to do with conference realignment. It's all about football brands and the TV money they drive. Unlike the last rounds - where it was all about getting new TV markets - with cord cutting, the most recent round is about power consolidation and having the most/best brands. KU/ISU would likely decrease the amount each team would get in the B1G since it would increase the number of schools and do little to drive a higher amount from the networks that are bidding.

The SEC and especially Greg Sankey did some sleazy stuff. He sat in a room for the better part of two years with Bowlsby and other conferences crafting the 12 team CFP proposal. All the while, he was in backroom discussions with UT and OU. I get that it's big business, but let's not pretend it's anything approximating ethical at this point. I'm hoping the other conferences respond by demanding a limit of 3 teams per conference for the 12 team field. And that they wait to open up bidding outside of ESPN's exclusive window. Ideally the CFP would do like the NFL, and allow multiple networks access to the product. As it stands, the SEC/ESPN evil-alliance drives us towards one network having almost exclusive coverage of games, bowls, and playoffs. Plus being in bed with one conference, and driving a narrative and money towards that conference.

If I'm the B1G, I get really aggressive in several ways.
1 - Go either East or West, anticipating the SEC's next move toward a 20 team super conference. (there's almost no chance the SEC is done expanding with OU/UT)
East = adding some mix of VTech, Virginia, UNC, Clemson, FSU, ND, Miami. Get great brands, and deep into fertile recruiting ground.
West = adding some mix of USC, UCLA, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Stanford. Good academic schools, big markets, truly national footprint.

Since you likely go to pod scheduling anyways, the geography collateral damage is limited. ND probably still stays independent, which is maybe where a KU could slip into the mix.

2 - Expand the TV Bidding war. ESPN is in bed with the SEC, and only getting cozier. It does the B1G no good to be second fiddle on ESPN, but you still need the revenue. So invite not just Fox and CBS, but also Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. to bid. A mix of rights where you have say Fox, BTN, and Netflix sharing the content would drive massive dollars. It still ensures marque games are on a network. BTN still gets good content, and Netflix ensures the less marketable games/sports are still widely viewable.

Also, let Alvarez take the wheel when it comes to football decisions. Warren is out of his depth and was caught totally flat footed by this. Now is not the time to be slow or reactive.

Congratulations to UW-W Coach Kevin Bullis on earning induction into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame!  It is a well-deserved honor!

According to the UW-W website, "Bullis entered the 2020-21 year as the winningest active coach by percentage (.862) in all NCAA divisions with at least five seasons at a four-year school."

More importantly, Coach Bullis has led with integrity and positively impacted the lives of hundreds of young men along the way. He is a great coach, an even better person, and a credit to both UW-W and the coaching profession.

Congratulations Coach Bull!

Not really sure what this means, but it would be great to have you on the WIAC board. I always laughed at your MIAC material.

NFL reports: Kumerow is having a huge camp, Meinerz is backup C and LG on Broncos depth chart, but has impressed most with his Napoleon Dynamite dance routine. Check out Warhawks twitter for that.

Story on Kumerow balling out. Fun to read, I feel like he just needs a shot with some real game reps.

Y'all ready for the .... ISTHMUS BOWL?!?!?! I dig it. Top WIAC team not qualified for the playoffs vs top CCIW team not qualified for the playoffs, played at Verona Stadium on the opening weekend of D3 playoffs. In 2019, this would've pitted La Crosse against Washington U. Sounds like they've got strong sponsorship lined up. Should be a quality game, and one more chance for the seniors to lace 'em up.

Here is some more information from Bowl Game Director, Mike Shaw.

Sorry to hear about the passing of former UW-LaCrosse coach Roger Harring. I watched his teams beat a good Mount Union team twice back in the 1990's. He certainly had a terrific record that puts him up there with the top coaches of all time.
Condolences to his family at home and at UW-L. Rest in peace, coach.
