The RF win over Point reminded me of the Northwestern win. Point's D had the same inability to stop the Falcon O, but Point's O was a little better than Northwestern's. That has to be the poorest performance for Point so far this year. No Falcon fans expected that kind of a win. The announcers (kids) were flabbergasted with the RF's ability to get the next play going before the chain gang was ready. Another surprise to them:  that RF would use its backup q.b. as a kick returner. But when he (Kaleb Blaha, freshman transfer from Winona) got in the game, his running ability justified to them why he had been used that way.

Haven't downloaded/digested the whole UWO-UWL game yet, but wow, statement win for the Eagles. Sure didn't think they'd put 400 yards on Oshkosh. I still view this as a battle for no better than second place, but it puts UWL in line for the WIAC's Pool C bid... or does it? If they're a 2-loss team, even if one loss is to a D2? hmmm...

Ho hum, the Warhawks road-grade another one. Most interesting thing about this one is that Jackson Chryst appears to have taken the QB2 job which is relevant for a team that should have a 15-game season.

An unexpected dandy (at least by me) between Stout and UWEC. Not sure if Stout underperformed or UWEC is a young team on the rise with a new QB who can carry them. I'll go with the latter.

'95 Blugold

Roubidoux brings so much more to the Blugold passing game than Malueg and will definitely open things up a lot more. I feel bad for the senior captain, but it definitely was the right move to make both for now and the future. Used the receivers and tight ends on a regular basis. I went back a few years and the only other time the Blugolds had a 300 yard passing game was a game in 2018 against River Falls. Heck I would say we were lucky to have a 200 yard passing game.. Barring injury, the future is bright at QB for the Blugolds the next 4 years.

Still we need to figure out how to score a TD from short yardage as it was a struggle last night and quite frankly was part of the reason we lost last night. Need to bump something to the outside or go with a play action. Can't just jam it up the middle. Defense needs to find a way to get opposing offenses off the field. Granted we had two fumble recoveries taken away from us last night, but we need to get teams off the field on 3rd down. The offenses only get better from here on out.

Not so sure.  Yesterday was the George Chryst Memorial Bowl, a tribute to Jackson's grandfather.   In a game that was in complete control, the move may have been a tip of the hat to Jackson and the Chryst family. Evan has been pretty firmly entrenched as #2 since he's been healthy. My understanding is that he is practicing really well. No inside knowledge, but my strong guess is that Evan is #2.

Evan definitely needs the game action, but it was pretty obvious why Jackson Chryst was the choice in this situation. I thought it was a cool move by Bullis and probably was pleasing for the Chryst family, too. I believed it also inspired his uncle's UW Badgers to shut out the Fighting Illini to make it a perfect afternoon for them.  ;D

WARHAWKS JVs defeat Point 41-0 this afternoon.  I watched the PACKERS so aside from the score I don't have any details.

LaCrosse looks to be coming on strong, RF's offensive and defensive numbers are basically good and Oshkosh has either beaten and/or played us tough to the end.  We've got a long way to go yet.    It's ten weeks and a lot can happen.

True. Though I don't think we've had a team since Bullis took over that looked like they were this dynamic on offense. We looked pretty pedestrian against Stout and beat them by 30.

I've been fairly high on UWL all year (I have them third in my West Region Poll and have since the beginning), but I think my question about UWO is this: Is UWL that much improved, or has UWO fallen? Is UWW THAT much better than they were in 2019? (I think the answer is yes...) So while we're always going to get everyone's best games, I do not think we're going to go to Oshkosh and throw a ton of picks and give away the game this time.

I'll take UWW by three scores. UWWs defense is better than UWLs. UWW will hold UWO down most of the game.

I was able to watch most of the game. At least for this game, the better offensive players were on UWL- Stutzman, Parks, Simuncak and Tobin. The O line was very good as well. The UWL D had a great second half.

UWW surely should prevail against UWO, however, that was the case in 2019 as well. I agree UWW looks better this year though. UWO is that thorn in the side team that has been a real threat to UWW for a decade now.
I'm excited to see the UWW D and a healthy Max Meylor at QB go into UWO and make a statement.

UWO is a little disappointing, given that they've got so much talent back from the 2019 team that beat UWW. And if UWL is improved, they're dangerous. Their 2019 team was in the red zone for a late go-ahead score vs UWW before a pick sealed their fate, although that team had a lot different key personnel on it. So yeah, a lot can happen. And the thing about a football is the damn thing's got pointy ends, and doesn't always bounce like you think it should.

But I would expect a UWW win Saturday by a couple tuddies.

Yeah, that game put an end to the Oles era at QB, and thus began the Meylor era.

5 ints thrown that game by Whitewater (4 from Oles). Ugly

Interesting. The ASC is no longer a Region 6 conference. Suppose that's good news for UWW in terms of possibly getting the top seed in the region come playoff time.

Undefeated UWW was/is always going to get ranked/seeded higher than UMHB in 2021 based on the criteria.  Plenty of things for Warhawks fans to sweat about, but this wasn't one of them.
