Interesting. The ASC is no longer a Region 6 conference. Suppose that's good news for UWW in terms of possibly getting the top seed in the region come playoff time.

Undefeated UWW was/is always going to get ranked/seeded higher than UMHB in 2021 based on the criteria.  Plenty of things for Warhawks fans to sweat about, but this wasn't one of them.

Name 3 real things UWW fans need to sweat about? I can't think of one.

This year?

Lack of discipline (penalties), kicking and North Central.

Health is alway the biggest. Kicking/Punting - pretty much all aspects of it. UWO is a distant 3rd

I guess those are my 3 (prior to the playoffs). And that's kind of nitpicking. Usually I'm an emotional mess. But this offense and defense has been clicking on all cylinders.

I think we have our best QB since Behrendt. And maybe our deepest WR group ever.

Just to illustrate... Jr. WR/PR Dain Hudson came to UWW from Duluth (a nationally prominent D2 program), where he had caught close to 50 passes over his two years there. He's not even on y'alls two-deep at WR (although he is returning punts).

He's a helluva punt returner. He did limp off the field after one punt with what look to be a lower leg/foot issue. Hope it was not serious.

Sure gonna be a lot of Waukesha West on the field Saturday. For UWO, WR Tetzlaff, OL Huggett and RB MacCudden all start. For UWW, besides Hudson, RT Gannon is also a Westy.

I know this comment won't sit well w some, but my main concern remains the same as previous 5 seasons- can the UWW offense produce against the best of the best.

Edit: Maybe stated better- can the UWW offense produce and play complementary football against every opponent it faces?

Another great week run down!

UWL vs UWP- Man is UWP a big disappointment this year. This is a team that I thought would at least make a run with the big dogs with 50 junior and seniors on their roster. UWL has arrived to the party this year. Behind UWW they might have to be the biggest story in D3 football. They are a legit contender. UWL overpowers UWP here by 24.

UWRF vs UWEC- This could be a sneaky good game. UWEC impressed me last week against Stout who I have been high on since week one. The switching of the QB play for UWEC has given them life. UWRF must be pretty damn good on offense they put up yards every week. This is a chance for the Falcons to finish 500 for the first time in what feels like 20 years. I think the Falcons edge this one out by 13

UWW vs UWO- Man I can not wait for this game. I am still very high on UWO even after a defeat to UWL. UWO will get up for this game, I just do not think it will matter. This will be a game for the first half and the warhawks run away with it late. Again for everyone on this board, I AM NOT A UWW SUPPORTER like some others on this board. I just think this is one of the best Whitewater teams I have ever seen. I have been following the league since 1996. I am willing to start having the conversation that this might be the BEST UWW TEAM OF ALL TIME. Maybe I am a poisoner of the moment but man I have been impressed. If they blow UWO I am open to having the conversation next week and I can bring numbers to back my case. Warhawks by 28

UW-Stout vs Point- Rematch from 3 weeks ago. Nothing changes other than Stout might win by more. Stout by 38.

28 points?! Wow. As much as I would love see that happen, I'm not too sure about that.

However....I'll take UWO +28 all day $$$.  ;)

I'll go UWW by 14. When UWO won this matchup a couple years ago, I seem to remember Oles running for his life, especially in the second half -- did UWW lose an OL or two to injury that game? UWO would need that kind of pressure again to keep this one close, control possession as much as possible (like 40 minutes) and get a few freak plays and bounces going their way. Jaylen Grant... I just don't think we've heard the last out of him. He can fly. So it's not so much an alternative universe in which UWO could win this game, but UWO's gotta be near perfect. UWW's just gotta be itself.

Just my biased opinion, but...

If anyone wants to keep UW-W from lighting up the scoreboard this season, they HAVE to stop the running game. if they don't, they likely won't stop either run or pass because the entire playbook will be open and UW-W will be operating with second and third and short situations.

UW-0 allowed 217 yards rushing and 6.0 ypc at Huntingdon
142 yards rushing and 5.5 yards per carry to Northern Michigan
218 yards rushing and 4.7 yards per carry to LaCrosse

Unless some studs are returning or their play dramatically improves, it will be hard to slow down UW-W's running game with a similar performance.

With their likely playoff aspirations on the line, UW-0 will fight like crazy.
Meanwhile this is one of two teams the UW-W players have been salivating to play against for nearly two years.
Should be a fun one!

02 Warhawk

Wow. Rare to see a UWO defense give up that many yards on the ground.

I don't remember the exact line, I think it was 2015 after UWO beat UWW in regular season- coach Cerroni said something like "if UWW thought they could just line up and beat us..."'
He's a confident coach especially when facing UWW.

02 Warhawk

True but that was a very different UWO team. They ran the table against all D3 teams that year...in convincing fashion too. Only to lose to UWW in the 3rd round of the playoffs later that year.

The exact quote was actually referring to our formations, not our attitude. We did a heavy dose of double tight end and sometimes with a fullback mixed in. We tried to road grade them without a solid run/pass mix. I don't think it was a show of confidence. I think it was a clear jab at our offensive coordinator at the time who just left his program for UW-W.

I will agree he is a confident coach. Especially when facing UW-W might be a stretch. I'm guessing there are less talented teams that he is more confident in coaching against than UW-W. But what I will say is that he's a good coach. As in Hall of Famer.

Tomorrow is a day a lot of us have looked forward to for a long time. It's going to be a lot of fun.
