#1 thing Whitewater needs to practice this week is shotgun snaps

I wish it was just shotgun snaps. That offense was about as discombobulated as I've seen from a UWW team.

Hot take: Could a case be made that UWW needs a new HC?

fredfalcon

Absolutely not! I wondered how long it would take and who would be the 1st one?

Just in case there is any doubt, my last post refers to Trombone JB post

That's when you use the "quote" reply like I am doing here.

No chance. Not fair to compare him to Lance. No chance he can fill those shoes. Lance was a generational coach that we'll never see again at UWW. KB is a fine coach and doing a good job. UWW is still the best team in the best conference.

The hawks have been struggling of late to top d3 schools, but teams haven't?

I'm not responding based on today's game. In my opinion the answer depends on the expectations of the administration and team. Quarterfinals, semifinals and a championship appearance are a pretty strong resume for most coaches. Losing the biggest game of the year each time he's made the playoffs is unfortunate.

The offense continues to be the biggest difference.

Yeah it's almost as if they play a good team they get shy.

You say shy, I say overwhelmed

Blugolds pull out a 30-26 win over Loras tonight in Eau Claire. Gonna be a long season for this young squad. Starting 3 sophomores along with 2 juniors on the OL. Running lanes were few and far between for new lead back sophomore Ivan Ruble. Sophmore QB Harry Roubidoux got pulled in the second half in favor of a freshman. Roubidoux did return late in the 4th to lead Eau Claire on their game winning 2:00 drive which they scored and retook the lead with under :30 left.

Run defense looked pretty solid, but the secondary is going to be a liability for them on D. Big test next week when the go down and visit Central.

I don't see that happening as with most WIAC programs it's not all about W&L's. You have to look at academics,  off the field issues, the coaches standing in  the community and other intangibles.  WW might be  a victim of its own success. Their Defensive Coordinator a few years ago is now an assistant at a FCS school their Offensive Coordinator is now the HC at Oshkosh and their Run Game Coordinator is now Platteville's Offensive Coordinator something tells me that WW will be fine. Besides if Platteville ever beats WW I want them to be on top.

OzJohnnie

Good game, UWW. Obviously I'm happy the Johnnies finally got their due against UWW but it ain't all bad for the 'Hawks.

* Your offensive line gets great push.  And you've got a couple RB's who are fast and very well balanced.  Any arm tackle was pushed aside as if it wasn't even there.  In any game where the opposition defense is not as pressuring as the Johnnies and it will be a smashing.

* Quite a few mistakes by UWW bit them in the backside.  SJU's mistakes were fewer and didn't punish them.  If these two squads meet again this year then I don't think it will be mistakes that determine the outcome.  It will be strength on strength - ground control v AirJohnnie.  If it happens, it will be quite a game.

I think you'll be fine against UMHB next weekend.  I bet you play mistake-free football and give them hell.  I'm tipping the Warhawks to win.

How many more games can whitewater lose and still make the playoffs?

'95 Blugold

All they need to do is win the WIAC. Their out of conference losses won't play into that. Now if another team emerges as the WIAC champ, then it gets tricky.

They lose one more and they will be out of Pool C. If they win the WIAC then they will get the auto bid and number of losses won't matter.
