Some of the top regional rank team's SOS:

Linfield: 23
NCC: 56
Cortland: 83
Mount: 162

Just saying, having a weak schedule has its advantages come playoff time when the road to the championship has to go thru your team's home field. Don't get me wrong, playing tough teams is fun for the fans and schools involved, But I don't think the risk is worth the reward. I'm sure MHB fans would agree with me. If they didn't come to UWW this year, they would probably have the top spot in their region, instead of 3rd.

Also, I have questions about NCAA's SOS metric, b/c I highly question Linfield only had 22 D3 teams with a tougher schedule. Have they played a ranked team this year?

In my opinion UWP had the toughest SOS, no question:
Bethel
Hardin-Simmons
(Michigan Tech) D2
UWW
UWL
UWO
UWRF
UWS

:o

02- Although I agree UWP had a tough schedule- UWW played the same conference schedule but swap Bethel and Hardin Simmons w St. John's and UMHB- and I'd challenge your "no question" opinion.

You're forgetting one very good conference team they had to play that we didn't, and that's UWW. So that's four teams that are currently in the top 10 they played. We only faced 3 top 10 teams. That doesn't include a scholarship offering program that had to face too.

Plus you make the argument that Bethel is tougher than SJU, b/c of their H2H matchup.

Yeah but...I've got to side with Emma on this one.

1. I think when comparing schedules of two teams games, you have to throw their game out. Or at least put a great big disclaimer on it that says, "of course your schedule is tougher. You have to play us".  But they beat us, so since we are looking backwards, can you really add that to the toughness of their schedule over UW'W's?

2. Bethel over St. John's is a weak argument. Things will get settled a bit Saturday, but from a common sense perspective, they are pretty even.

3. UW-W's opponent from the ASC beat Platteville's ASC opponent by 30 points.

At a minimum, "no question" is strong.

How does UWSP stack up these days or are they still a good music college and have a great cafeteria?

Normally I'd tune out of the game at this point, but it's a train wreck. You kinda gotta watch to see how high the score will go.

Rare to see that outcome in a WIAC matchup. UWSP...wow

So, UWS, UWP, UWO all finished with the same record and 1-1 against each other. I guess Platteville goes to the bowl game because they beat Whitwater, the only by the three over one of co-champions.?

I don't know but I hope it's UWO. They are a more complete team imo.

I'm going to guess Whitewater gets a 3 seed in a North Central bracket.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I really hope you are right as far as which bracket we are in! I would think that would have to be the most travel friendly bracket!

Heard today from Falcon athletic official that UWRF will play in isthmus Bowl instead of Pville based on the longest time since playing in a D3 playoff. Pville has played in D3 playoff more recently than UWRF.

Congratulations to the Warhawks on Conference Championship number 39!  The Hawks set an all-time record for points scored. d

In the route, the Hawks scored 58 points in less than a quarter.  After Point took a 3 point lead with 10:51 left in the first quarter, the Hawks responded with 58 points in the next 14:05 in game minutes, to take a 58-3 lead with 11:46 remaining in the second quarter. I've never seen or heard of anything quite like it.  Great way to end the regular season! On to the playoffs!

Interesting Fred...I believe that's the same criteria the WIAC uses to determine the automatic conference qualifier for the tournament in the event of a 3 way tie, so it would make sense to apply it in this situation as well.

Bleed, is this the Department of Redundancy Department? The exact post 2 hours apart? You still feeling the affects of last nights celebration?

Put into a time of possession criteria it is an accomplishment.  But what was even more amazing to me was the number of plays each drive had.  We scored 8 touchdowns on 17 plays from scrimmage.  It got to a point that we were making over/under predictions every series.  At one point they had 12 minutes of possession, we had 3 and were leading by 25 points.

Three rushers with over 100 yards.  Pound the Rock on steriods.

Don't be fooled BW, that was more the result of one of the worst displays of defense in my opinion than an extraordinary offense on steroids. UWW did nothing unusual to confuse Steven's Point. Ran the same couple running plays they always have. At one point UWW had more rushing scores than UWSP had tackles I do believe.
