I know KB had quite a bit of experience both at UWW and UWRF as an assistant coach when he got the job. Not sure if there's anyone on the staff (w/ the exception of O'Grady) who has that experience that the organization would consider.

I think they go outside for their next hire.

Jace Rndahl is the current interim HC now. He was an All American LB at UWW back in their early championship years. Something to keep in mind as he's a defensive minded coach like KB was.

I don't know the current staff like y'all do. But I'd be a bit shocked to see them go internal.

02 Warhawk

Probably a big stretch, but I'm Not hating the Beebe idea I read a few pages back. Not sure if he'll be interested, or if even if Bullis is for sure leaving.

SpartanHouse

They won't go internal. The program hasn't had enough success with this regime and the coordinators are young.

In all serious, Don Beebe is the absolute perfect fit. Played for the Packers and loves WI. What he has done at AU is astounding. He's recruited top notch talent that competes with the top of D3 each year.

What he would be able to recruit to WW would be impressive to say the least and the offense he'd bring would be perfect for WW.

Haha, thinking the same thing at the same time!

Beebe definitely came in and brought an Aurora squad to its winning ways VERY quickly. Offensive minded. Shows he can build/turn around a program. Imagine what he could do with the talent at UWW.

But yea, who knows if he'd be interested.

I threw this out to 02 Warhawk on twitter, but this guy came to mind as an option: https://kuathletics.com/coach/jim-zebrowski/ He was the OC under Leipold at UWW. Joined him back at Buffalo and now at Kansas. Played at UMU. Has been a head coach before. Is an offensive minded guy.

I know there are probably other, sexier hires. And who knows if he would even be interested, like Beebe.

The Third Division

Y'all wanna explore Don Beebe as a potential UWW HC? Sure.

Played 9 seasons in NFL, In 6 of them he played in a super bowl, and won super bowl 31 with the packers in '96.

Whitewater has had a handful of athletes make it into the NFL. Jake Kumerow, Quinn Meinerz, Nate Trewyn, etc.

Started House of Speed which trains young athletes - according to wikipedia now has locations in eleven states

Coached Aurora Christian HS from 2004-2017, then for Aurora University since 2019. - dude was even born in aurora in '64

also the fact he beat uww should be very telling should he express interest as opposed to keeping his heart in aurora. No matter what, coaching at UWW will result in a salary boost for him.

SpartanHouse

Jake Landry would be a good candidate although he may have burned too much of a bridge in his short time at WW.

Current OC at St Thomas. Precious QB coach at Temple and NIU. Had a very successful 2 years as OC at UWL before that.

One more thing about Beebe, he is an avid supporter of christian faith. I have not seen this come from warhawk football really.

Why is that important?

I'd think HC experience, or an OC with a sterling record like a Heckendorf from SJU. Heckendorf is from Mosinee, WI, played at NDSU I believe.

Quit trying to poach our OC!!!

I'd be curious if it'd actually be a salary boost. Additional resources - absolutely but maybe not his salary. There was a rumor he might have been a candidate at Wheaton when Swider retired and AU got him to stay.

If this is correct - Bullis was only making around 90k.https://govsalaries.com/bullis-kevin-107447340
That's actually not very good for a head coaching job.

After reading his bio, yea, I'd be okay with poaching him.

I worked for a student group at whitewater and can tell you that whitewater is the least funded school in the UW system.

I don't know if money will be a big motivator for him. I'm sure him and his family are pretty comfortable. If he had Liepold type coaching aspirations, UWW could be a nice stepping stone for him
