Western Michigan just fired head coach Tim Lester. While that may not appear to be of interest here, it means that former North Central HC and offensive guru Jeff Thorne is on the market. Thorne had left NCC for Western Michigan a year ago. UWW would have to step up to get him and I have no idea the level of interest.

He'd be a slam dunk hire.
His son will be a senior at Michigan State next year. He may want to take a year off.

I'd be happy with Lester or Thorne. Unfortunately, I feel (unsupported opinion only) both have such strong ties to the Naperville area that they'd see UWW as a move similar to going to Wheaton.

I think there might be jobs out there that over-rule a bit of that. Taking over a storied program like UWW and helping it back to prominence might be one.

Good luck with your next coach.  I reckon you'll need to cut and paste this line as it will be getting a lot of use.

Thank you

Sorry - I didnt' realise I was responding to you.  I was seeing a little red and was in a zone.  I didn't mean to be mean to you.

People with vision don't usually look back.

neither do blind people. The best visionaries aren't afraid to look back and take an honest look to assess in order to move forward.

As an aside, Thorne played HS Football up in Wheaton.

You're right. For whatever reason I've always thought of Wheaton Warrenville HS as Naperville, which is pretty stupid given the name.
Coach Thorne the elder brought WWS to football prominence in IL. They were a great program to watch.

With or without UWW playing, I love these playoffs.

I'm going w my heart (and a small dose of logic) in picking Aurora and Bethel to advance. NCC and MT seem like the logical picks- I'm more confident in NCC than I am Mt. Perhaps DV has enough D and team speed to force MT into a tight game.

Wartburg - 14 Aurora - 47
Mt Union 42-10
NCC 45-10
UMHB 49 - 24

Hope all is well my favorite fans!  :o

Ugh, once too many times. I keep looking for that slant and go.
The BU D looks gassed.
