Lindenwood is a Div II school.  Some of their sports teams are playing Div  I
Don't forget your booties cause it's cold out there!

What an impressive weekend for WIAC football!
I realize it's only one week, but if they keep this up the conference schedule will be unlike any previously. Although UWP likely had the less difficult opponent of all- they did exactly what a good team should do. At this point how can you pick a front runner? Maybe UWRF? Wow do they look skilled. UMHB sure didn't look like they had the same level of players as previous years, but the Falcons have some studs.

Lindenwood is FCS.

The Third Division

I think we can all agree this years first game for the Warhawks went better than last years first game.

Agreed. QB was a surprise. Besides being fast, he threw the ball well (unfortunately couldn't see deep balls due to ongoing challenges the college camera guys have with zooming out).

I hope Sherman's injury isn't too bad- horrible to go out in first series.

'95 Blugold

After blowing a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter Eau Claire kicks a 33 yard FG with under a minute left into a stiff wind to pull out a 31-28 victory over Concordia Moorehead. Nice to get our new coach started off with a win, but it's going to be a tough season. O-line got dominated in the run game. Take away a nice tackle breaking 53 yard td run in the 2nd quarter and the Blugolds only managed 1.3 yards/carry for the game. That will not cut it in the WIAC.

Next week they go down to Coe.

As if there was any question who the best conference in D3 still is...

8-)
Seems like wins over the MIAC, the OAC, and two over the ASC would certainly help the case for the WIAC. We'll see how the next couple of weeks play out, but sitting right here, right now it's kinda hard to make a case for any other conference being better.

Congratulations to Coach Rindahl for winning his first game as the UW-W Head Coach.  Very proud of this team and staff. After a rough first half, the guys played with no fear, trusted the plan, and kept bringing it one play at a time. Great road win against a very good Top 25 Team.

Gotta feel good for Jace!! Great road win, against a top 20 team, to start the year. Offense really
turned it up in the second half.

Favorite stat:
2/2 FG
3/3 XP

;D

I'm liking 0 interceptions, 0 fumbles as well.

Falcons better than I anticipated. D absolutely dominated Crusaders, holding them to -5 total rushing yards.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

I see that was comprised of 80 rushing yards and 85 negative yards. Six sacks for (-37) accounted for nearly half of the hegative yards.  Were there bad snaps or something that ran the total so high?

fredfalcon

Yes, several. Their long snapper had a terrible day.

In partial defense, I think the punter dropped the second punt snap.

I can't remember the last time the CRU got blown out like this. Congrats!
