Great win for the Hawks. Love the resiliency and toughness of this team.  Great character win on the road last week against a really mature and talented Top 15 type team after being down 10 at halftime. Then, the momentum the Johnnies seized at the end of the first half and to begin the second would have buried many teams. But the Hawks responded with 35 straight points.  We knew we were young, talented, fast, and hungry. But it's impossible to know for sure how a team will respond to adversity until that moment. These guys want it bad. On to UMHB.

I believe in Johnnie language that game would be called a "monkey stomping."
Monkey Stomp Plus  :-\

I've heard the term "double monkey stomping" before but I wasn't certain what the point spread had to be.
Your defense needs help.
Good luck the rest of the way.  We may very well meet again down the road.

Now that Trinity beat UMHB 35-15, a WW win in Texas looks quite likely. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 20 point win for the Hawks. I hope so, because I want see two unbeaten teams when WW visits RF.

I would say the chances of both teams being undefeated 3 weeks from now are less than 50%, especially considering La crosse and Oshkosh both lost...the path to the playoffs for both those teams now goes through Whitewater

Not following.  How in the world do losses by La Crosse and Oshkosh affect the chances of UW-W and UW-RF being undefeated when they meet?

Have to feel good for Jordan Love today; he handled the pressure well. The NFL needs a mercy rule for a game like this.

"Quite likely"? Fred, I appreciate your confidence in the WARHAWKS and I'd love to see the two of us meet undefeated.  The team has to travel to Texas, likely by bus, and play a program with the history of UMHB who has their backs against the wall and absolutely come hell or high water must win.  They've already dug the hole losing is piling the dirt back on top of themselves.  That's a lot of motivation.  I like our team and our chances but I can't bring myself to see a W as "quite likely."  I hope you were right all along.

We are flying to Texas. UW-W has the utmost respect for UMHB. The Hawks will be preparing as if the CRU are the defending national champions. UMHB always has great athletes. Their wide receivers are lights out. Miller and Cormier are good running backs.  I think they took a step forward at QB this last week.  I know there are other areas in which the CRU are seeking improvement and I know they will work their butts off.  But so will the Hawks. I'm very confident we will be well prepared and ready to go full throttle for 60 minutes. The Hawks really don't care who they play. They prepare to play violently for 60 minutes and if a team can hang with them, more power to them.  It should be a great game in Belton.

I remember a year ago after UWW was beaten by getting more than doubled up by St Johns up in Collegeville. MHB had just triple monkey stomped Muhlenberg, who was a top 10 team the year before. Going into this game last year almost everyone outside of these two programs were picking UMHB by double digits. UWW, playing at home, pulled off the victory. I think a victory by UWW is far from likely I'll take UMHB and the 20pts for whomever is offering.

Aside from my disbelief at the ineptitude of the Johnnie D, I was impressed by the UWW QB. His accuracy, especially on the out routes was excellent. What was the difference from the prior week. I can't believe that John Carroll was that much better than SJU. There may have been some hangover from the previous week, but that does not explain the allowing 56 points.

BTW, I also would be wary of a wounded UMHB. I watched a bit of the Trinity/UMHB game. The CRU QB looked out of his element (Donnie). Defense did look pretty good though. Good luck in Texas, and hope we meet again.

I am always very wary of comparing one team's performance against another vs a common opponent. There are so many variables when you consider travel, matchups, injuries, gameplan, etc. I don't think there's much value in comparing the manner in which two teams lost to UWW (JCU and St Johns).

Truthfully, I think JCU and St. John's would be a great game. We took a full half to get started against JCU. St. John's also had the lead on us in the third quarter.  Our offensive line is also developing a cohesion with each series. I think the team the Johnnies had to play was different and better than the team JCU faced. I don't know if your guys wore down or what but the Johnnies weren't able to hold up well the last 25 minutes. I agree with USee. The comparison is apples to oranges due to all the factors involved.

When we have just one or two games of data, I think this kind of comparison is informative.  It will be less so as we go along, for sure.

Regardless of what kind of hockey assist action JCU gets in the poll out of all of this, I think we can all agree that UWW looks fantastic.

According to Larry Harmon, CRU coach, it will be necessary for his team to get off to a better start than they have in the first two games (down 14 pts. early)
so that they don't have to rely on the pass to get back in it. He wants a more balanced attack than has been possible so far.

Kaleb Blaha has been named to the D3 team of the week for the second consecutive week and third time in his career. He totaled 566 yards of total offense vs. Ohio Wesleyan. I wish one of our running backs could take some of the pressure off him.
